Haha, someone moved the thread. :D

Seriously, its hilarious how smug the MP forums are about playing a co-op PVE game mode. They tell people stuff like "learn 2 play" and turn their noses up at single-player content. It is genuinely funny to see braggarts boast about beating scripted computer AI that follows the same behavior every time they play. I have never seen a community of braggarts so proud of accomplishing so little.

I hope you realize that no one here is even remotely serious (well, except me right now). We are fully aware that it is PvE co-op and that doing well in MP isn't something to boast of. We do solo Platinum speedruns because we need a challenge. ;)

Almost all MP players are helpful, supportive and welcoming towards new players. Once you get past the obligatory troll comments anyway.

I'm sure it would also surprise you how much we know about the games. We have people who analyzed the code, we have people who played the SP campaigns a dozen times and we even have people who roleplay as ME characters 24/7.

About the "learn2play"... well, if MP is so easy, if it is no challenge worth talking about... then why are there so many people being bad at it? It's not that the MP crowd consists of godlike players, it's just that relatively it looks that way.

The entire "us vs. them" mentality is bullshit anyway. Yes, there are some people who never tried the MP and a few people who never started the SP. But the majority of the MP people played SP, so it's not like we're any different from the SP crowd. We are them and them are us. More or less. :P

Let's be honest: Some threads in the SP forums are weird. Tali's sweat anyone? Liara porn? Turian foot fetish? :P

Well I'm done. You may continue throwing expired produce at each other. Just be aware that the MP people have better aim. :P

|Have to agree with the OP here SP deserves it's place in the game and Bioware have always made great SP stories that is their strength. To drift away from that would be suicidal you want MP go play COD or the new Battlefront when it's released.

I tend to play SP because of my disability makes it hard to compete with others especially as I only have 1 hand to control everything with. So I tend to stick with playing AI set to easy levels and that as it gives me more time to react to the changing circumstances. So single player does and always wil have it's place in games I think and it should.

Nah, man, they just wrote a single okay story back in 1998 and tell variations of it up to this day.

As the cool kids of the BSN playground, it's our job to bully the whiny, salty, cry-babies who insist on banging every freaking character their perverted eyes fall upon.

Stop it with these baseless assumptions!                                           We still didn't get to bang Wrex!

Now I need to crawl back: Not Xen is shouting that her new pool is not yet full enough :crying:

Indeed. I'll have to substitute some of Tali's sweat at this rate, and the two aren't chemically soluble.

There's adequate time time though. I'm still working on the AI for the pool rover. It keeps whining about wanting a soul. Whatever robot.

As an SP guy who dabbles in MP (gold is my absolute limit), and who lurks in MP threads quite often, I have to say that I do enjoy the *ahem* banter between everyone.

Even funnier is the fact that the SP people take everything so seriously.

Keep up the good work.

I like that instead of deleting or locking a troll thread the mods just moved it to another forum.

What does tastes have to do with the fact that there is a literal chart that every single BioWare title almost follows to a t?

I don't think I have ever seen the people from the MPer forums so united and harmonious as when they band together for a spot of trolling.

When MP players complain about the game, they're talking about shortcomings in or frustrations with the gameplay: things like Geth Hunters shooting you while frozen, prone, and dead. Or Geth Bombers arbitrarily deciding they didn't get hit. Or Phantoms having 90 percent DR against the hosting player. Or Pretorians that shoot and grab in a 360-degree arc. Or Geth Rocket Troopers that shoot predictively from behind and through cover without facing you and then triple-tap. Or several dozen other things.

When SP players complain about the game, it's because the vision of the writers didn't make them feel quite enough like a precious space princess whose dreams all came true in pixels. I would like to see Bioware say, "This is our story, you sad, whiny little *******! This is what we thought would be a good game worth playing through. Either try to enjoy what we've made, set it down, or make your own damned game." Sadly, Bioware has let its games become about fan-service to whoever has the greatest sense of entitlement.

Underrated post. When we MP people complain about the game, we focus on things in the gameplay that obviously shouldn't be happening. And in quite a few cases, we take the initiative to fix those problems (or at the very least find reliable workarounds) ourselves if we can't get them officially addressed. When SP players complain, it usually has to do with their preferred character not getting enough screentime/romance option.

I play and enjoy both, but at the end of the day, it seems to me like MP players bring up more valid complaints than our SP counterparts. That's not to say there haven't been very good criticisms from the SP crowd, but they seem fewer and far between.

Maybe out of people left over now, but come on, balance change threads when something got nerfed?

But when Bioware averted it like a plague in DA2, everyone lose their minds. Some people like playing the same thing over and over. Just like you and me.

They survived. because WE, the glorious MP Master Race kept the Galactic Readiness up.

We worked hard to make Andromeda come true. I've always said if we fight enough Reapers in MP, we'll unlock further content!

Actually some of the balance change threads were very productive and even, in some cases, implemented - the Tactical Cloak "nerf" was almost implemented verbatim from a thread on the MP forum. I actually prefer the post-nerf TC, so there :P

Though I have to agree with you when people were WAAAAAAAHING about crap like a 10% increase in weight on a weapon that, for all practical purposes, made absolutely no difference.

What's the objective standard that makes a complaint a "more valid complaint?"

Some people enjoy chatting about plot, characterization, and the socio-political issues surrounding videogames in a wider cultural context.  Other people don't.  If you don't care for those kind of topics, then don't click on them.  My radical theory is that different people have different priorities when it comes to what they want in games.  Bioware is known for their emphasis on story-telling: therefore, it attracts people who are interested in stories.

Personally, I wouldn't touch MP with a ten-foot pole, but I don't object to its presence, nor do I believe my arty-farty game analysis is somehow more "valid" than those of people who prefer to focus on mowing down enemy hordes.
