Ok... whose idea was it to have a crafting system, and a multiple varied gift/influence system in a game with other equipment and a max inventory of 70(or 70+10+10+...if you can afford bags)?

I currently have 80 inventory spaces, and those are constantly full of components for potions, poisons, grenades, weapons and armor.

In addition I have some items, mostly gems, that MAY be vendor trash, or they might be components later on.

Then there are the gifts.  At first I was just going to randomly feed them to the npcs, but some of the gifts trigger +15 point swings, and cutscenes... so I am stuck holding onto about 20 gift items.

I'm looking for a console command to increase inventory size, basically.  I'd ask for a definitive list of which gifts lead to cutscenes, but I don't think anybody will have one just yet.

Why on earth is the inventory limited when we cannot even drop items on the ground, or store them at camp?

No, I am not buying warden's keep just to store items, if that is what happens.

ps. I thought the new and improved inventory system was supposed to eliminate the inventory management minigame.

I agree that the inventory gets full very quickly. And that switching gear with a full inventory is strenuous.

I personally gave all of my gifts at each occasion I had no more room. Disapointing, but that's the way it is...

Could always use warden's keep party storage, theres one there after you complete the questline.

It is alot more streamlined from previous games like neverwinter and baldur's gate, instead of having a separate inventory bag for each character, you get one big bag?

I may get into trouble later on, but I've just been selling everything. Maybe, I'll have to invest in Warden's Keep. I was thinking about getting it anyway. Although, I sure someone will come up with a player's home Mod fairly quickly.

Your desire to hang onto everything is the problem. This is not Knights; the inventory is not infinite.

If gifts are you problem, go to camp and give them out. If it’s weapons and armor, equip your party and sell the rest. As crafting components indicate they are such in their description, this shouldn’t be a problem. Deep mushrooms, venoms, elfroot, etc, all tell you that they’re for crafting. The gems don’t because they’re vender trash.

Also, right-clicking an item in inventory brings up a mini-menu which will allow you to destroy it, as will, I think, dragging it off the page to the world screen.

I have a very hard time getting out of the save everything mentality. But, I went a sold everything in my other invetory and freed up 35 slots. I'm going to be laughed at by the other rich dwarfs later, I just know it...  :?

The game isn't super clear on what is and what isn't just for sale. While, there isn't anything to make you think pelts or gems should be craft items in game, theres nothing that clearly says they aren't either. And things of this nature are often in craft items in other games. So, its natural to assume they might be. It would have been a good design choice to have some text stating items that "would sell well to a merchant, but has little value for you personally".

Sell sell sell, there is no reason to hold on to stuff. You don't need it. SELL SELL SELL!

I finally broke down and sold most of my stuff, although some things, such as "wolf pelt" and "blank vellum" sure seem like they would be crafting materials.   I'm not the only one who thinks this, as replies indicate.

The seemingly low starting limit of 70 seems like a console limitation, but that shouldn't be the case even on consoles.   Just start people off with inventory size of like 500 or something, why even bother with a low limit?  Especially when there are armor set bonuses... ugh.  I had bits and pieces of like 25 different armor sets.

Oh well.  Keeping an eye out for an inventory console command or waiting for toolset mod for the next playthrough.

ps. Had several bugs already, most glaring: Bought a Frost Grenade recipe, it disappeared from inventory and did NOT go into the list of recipes to make with Poison skill... it's just gone.  Other grenade recipes have worked.

pps. Anybody else think the textures for the castle walls etc. in Human Noble origin were stuck really low? The rest of the game looks very good, the beginning castle looked drawn in crayon though.

I seem to recall that there are grenades and traps.

Also why do I need black vellum (how ever you spell it), those blanks scrolls from Magi tower. Should I just sell them?

OMG......Yes your character should be able to carry 2 tons of crap, have a backpack the size of a mountain on his shoulders, and still wade into battle with no penalty what-so-ever. 500 slots indeed!! Jeeezzzz

Until a full suit of armor or 5 leaves from a plant or 1 piece of paper don't take up the same amount of space then yes, we should have 500 slots.

Or crafting stuff should be in it's totally seperate storage area.

A full suit of armor wieghs between 35 and 70 lbs depending on type. How many suits do you have in your inventory? I have never had over 40 items in my pack, and I open every chest and totaly complete every area. It's called inventory management. try it. O and there are many items that do stack, How much physical space do you think 20 empty glass flasks take up. I mean, be reasonable people. This is not an MMO. Sell it, drop it, or use it.

I have the same issue with it, where one silly silver ring has the same effect on inventory as Templar full armor. It would have been nice if it was done by weight instead of slot position. Where full set of armor would add more weight to the inventory comparing to small ring at the bottom of the bag.

Grenades go under the Poison skill. I am positive of this, as I bought the Fire Bomb recipe, crafted a few via the poison skill, and was suitably impressed with how much damage they do.  This skill looks like it could be really useful, especially vs the mass enemies we seem to fight so often.  However, Frost Bomb(correct name?) appears to be bugged, or became corrupt in some way when I bought it. It just vanished from my inventory, and did not show up in the Poison skill list of recipes, as all other grenades do.  Hopefully I can buy it again at some point.

Anyway, still looking for a console command to increase inventory!   Congrats if you think the inventory size is fine, or just sell/drop everything you come across, that's not my mindset in a rpg, and more than a few people seem to share my view.

Currently up to 90 storage, always full, and I've scrapped almost every non magical weapon and armor piece.  Until I get all the companions, I'm leery of burning through the 30 or so gifts I have stored up, aside from the blatantly obvious plot related ones.

Not sure if this is a bug or feature, but stacked weapons and armor, EACH counts against your total storage limit, crafting items and 'other' items, the stack counts as ONE against your inventory limit, regardless of stack size.

Minor issue: If you have a stack of 99 of a crafting item, and find a few more, and attempt to use some of those regents, the game automatically draws from the top stack.  The top stack seems to ALWAYS be the larger stack, so you can only use up the small stack if you use 100+ of the regent or destroy it.   Obviously, you cannot combine stacks either, at least not that I have seen.

Great game so far, just some console commands for inventory and I'll be satisfied.
