I'm serious.

I play video games for the action and story development related to said action. I do not need romance options; I would rather spend that time going for real life romance.

Please remove all potential romance and add extra action related story content in it's place.

The protagonist in the ME series is trying to save sentient life from extinction, do they really need to take nookie breaks? I mean, c'mon .. have some focus you overly sexualized hoss. Instead of that sex break, feel free to apply yourself and save an extra planet worth of sentient beings ..

That is all

^ Well, we don't know for sure that the ship has sailed ..  all we have is a small video clip

I recognize many players want those romance options so it is unlikely to be without ... IMO it is a waste of gaming space

Why do you think the alternative to romance is other content instead of no content?

Assuming there are resources allocated to creating romantic options (about %100 probability), it stands to reason those resources could be allocated to creating more playable content in its place

Sure we do. Every singleplayer game BioWare's produced in the past 8 years or so has included it, regardless of them being under no obligation to offer it. Fans responded positively and thus far it doesn't seem to have served to the games' detriment. Its absence doesn't guarantee more content elsewhere. More than likely, the lack of romance would just mean the same exact game, minus the bonus content.

Post a vid of you playing a no romance trilogy run while successfully on a date IRL and I'll get behind this. :D

1. Everyone needs to take nookie breaks.
2. What's the point of saving anything if you can't take nookie breaks?
3. Goto 1

@Kaiser - again, it is highly probable (like around %100) there will be romance options, but the game has not been released yet, so there is always that sliver of hope .. or, roughly translated - 'Bah! Humbug!'

@ Crutch - I admit, in ME1 I got jiggy with Ashley and in ME2  Miranda and I practiced chesterfield rugby .. but in ME3 I kept my zipper up the whole game. Video game people do not need nookie breaks (now, the players behind the controls .. well, that's another story)

You could choose in all 3 Mass Effect games not to get into a relationship OR have sexual relations with them.  With that said:  I expect the same in ME:A

^Yes, but that content is still there. Time and development which could have been spent creating another combat scene, or world to explore

Because resources are freely interchangeable?

As of now, my thread officially declares war. We will abide by the Geneva Convention, and will treat our P.O.W.s well. First, we must consolidate our locality. When all are united under the flag of "Don't Do Romances," we will advance on the mighty hordes of the romance-obsessed. It is a battle we will surely lose if we do not present a united front.

It's just a coincidental necessity that I must make myself king of this united army.

How did that gif get in here? This is purely for strategic purposes.

Your use of the term 'resources' is vague

Time spent by developers can be applied to different types of content

Romances are mandatory reason for me to have multiple playthroughs in Bioware's games. Also there is people who play ME, because it has romances. So those considered romances are needed in the game.

That does not necessarily hold true for Andromeda.

Just because you don't want something you expect others to go without your either a troll or an ass neither of which bodes well for you "sigh" oh well.

@Panda - perfectly reasonable and fair. I, however, do not agree. You and I play these games for different purposes. Ultimately we all want a great game tailored to our own hearts desire.

@Lathrim - we can assume, based on all the ME series games following this basic principle, there will be great threats to sentient life in ME:A. While it is not definite, I'd eat my hat if they deviated from such a successful plot-line

This is a forum and I express my opinion on what I want in the next installment of a game series I really like. Nowhere did I say I was right or anyone else was wrong. You use the term troll far too easily.

Or, "Welcome to the internet", as you seem to struggle with this concept.

Edit: I always get a kick out of the classic 'Your an ass" LOL

The budget for the game is divided into parts. Combat is not getting less money to make it good because they wanted to make the alien boobs extra shiny, ok?

But they will probably be extra shiny.

OP, that´s like demanding:

"No romance scenes in my action film!

I rather want another explosion! Or more shooting people!"

I understand. Those romance scenes are sometimes a bit cheesy and everybody is looking for the popcorn or the forgotten drink in the dark of the movie theater.

But would we notice one more explosion or action scene, or would we rather notice the lack of romance?

What the f*** am I saving the world for?

After seeing the moronic discussions that have gone on here since E3, I would have no problem with romances being removed, if only to purge the fanbase of it's more toxic elements.

Trust me when I say this: eliminating romances won't do a damn thing to those toxic elements.

Not a thing.

Cheesy is a massive understatement, romance scenes in the original trilogy came off as comedic rather than romantic, don't even get me started on the final sex scene aka toilet break.
