And that picture doesn't show her hair in its full glory...
Though it does show enough to let me know that I would really like to have that.

More shaved hair styles pleez.
And moor side burns for wimminz or else I will cancel my pre order!!
I want more fashionable short hair and medium length hairs and I have waist length hair myself and I don't really like all the buns options for my avatars. I don't know how the hell those things would held up without falling apart (mine never last an hour walking outside) but I do like the braids ideas... and wouldn't it be awesome if we had conrows hair.
But I do like long hair options for my female space marine in Swtor. Then again, Swtor is when Bioware did good at CC.

Please don't joke. These things are still a sore spot for a lot of people.
It's still a sore spot for me.
I love the way those look. I probably should have known better than to assume early development images are any kind of guarantee, but I saw those and I was really excited for the CC. I expected those options, or something similar.
Same here.
I'm still bitter at how different (and bad) the hair actually are in DA CC.
Something like Ellie's hair from the last of us is perfect.
Can anyone post a single in-game screencap with a decent-looking hair on FB? From what I've seen it's normally a buzz-cut, a helmet (hat) or both.
They've screwed Luke Skywalker in the recent SW:Battlefront trailer, what more there is to say?
I hope they don't make one really good hair and make it only available to the default. That annoyed me so much in me3.

Same. And in DA2 too. Is already bad when NPC have the best hairstyles, when the only good haistyle is reserved for the default, almost as a punishmant to not wanting the vanilla hero, is truly annoyng ![]()

I had waist length hair for a few years; actually, before I got it cut, it was getting close to butt length. My hair is a combination of thick (have lots of it) and fine (individual hairs are small); this hair type is difficult to control. I wore my hair in a lot of braided updos and buns and found that using hair screws and Bunheads hair pins kept my hair securely in place. You can find both on amazon.
At any rate, how does this relate to ME? Well, it is possible to have attractive updos that stay in place. My personal favorite is a french crown braid:

I also love a twisted bun. It's really fast and easy but looks complicated:

I also like to combine braids and buns:

All of these styles will hold up and, notice, no hair in the eyes! There are plenty of options BW could use if they need to keep hair short for clipping reasons. I'll happily bombard them with pics if they need ideas, lol!
See, now, why can't we get updos like those? The updos in bioware games are always so disappointing when there are so many awesome styles they could of done.

Yeah kind of looks like Dr Crusher from Star Trek TNG As long as it's something like this or like Miranda/Ashley length from ME3 I think it could work. Obviously if animated hair isn't possible yet for Biowaer bu tthey can give us more hairstyles then that'll do for now I think. But I would hop that within the next few games they can start moving in that direction. Especially as a lot of other games are.
No, it's not. It's a matter of perspective. It might not be a commercial failure or a failure from a critical or sales standpoint. But if it doesn't evolve and revolutionize the entire experience considering the amount of time they've had, it'll be nothing short of an extreme disappointment. Or as I would call it, an "utter failure". Especially from a creative standpoint.

Revolutionary is a strong word, evolve is a much better one. Of course we are going to expect ME:A to push its genre foward, but not necessarily make a revolution. If you pick the best RPGs of the last years, no one did that. They pushed the genre foward for sure, but there was no revolution.
That said, I think I remember Casey Hudson saying he thought ME:A would do just that...

ha!ha! BW needs a department of hair! I'll volunteer!
Seriously though, I imagine that the people designing the hair are primarily men who wouldn't really know much abut women's hair styles or where to look. We need some women on the team that know a thing or two about what works for other women!
It's important to remember there's a difference between good hair and long hair. The former is something Bioware should strive for, the latter a addtional feature. I'm certainly not against it, and I think Bioware should give that option, but I don't think it's a priority as we are not creating a model, but a soldier. It's worth (it always is) mentioning Rita Vrataski here, which might be the best female soldier in mainstream films. Her hair is long, yet it's always... pinned (is that the word?) because of course it is.
That's why I liked that mirror from DA2. Not only it's helps to make some tweaks after creating your character, but you could use it to change the hair of your character. So even if most of the time my character's hair was pinned, when I knew I would face no combat or didn't expect to, I could use a long hair model. That's something ME:A should have (a mirror like thing). Even if doesn't make sense, it's a extremely useful game feature, and ME:A is before everything a game.

Pin is fine!
They could also allow us to set a 'casual' hairstyle and a 'combat' hairstyle. This still wouldn't solve the problem of long hair clipping but, again, there are attractive updos they can use.

As someone who's been modding games for years, I've become immune to clipping.
I say let it clip. A little clipping is infinitely preferable to the silly little skullcaps they gave us in Inquisition and SWTOR.
And it's not like every other damn piece of equipment we have doesn't already clip.

Inquisition really was bad. I only use the the one with a bit of hair on the side of the face but I still hate the sad little pony tail on the back!
Normally, I would wear my hair like Katniss.. but I reckon anyone could grab on it.

But I don't think chin-length hair suffer too much from clipping. And they don't really need hair physics like longer hair and those things would kill my frame rates.
Bioware can't do hair. I wish they could but after DAI I need to be impressed.
I'd pay a bit extra for some good dlc hair options for men and women. One of the reasons I sometimes get a game for the pc after playing on my counsel is the hair styles mods, ok and clothing.
I will always remember fondly, the pony tail Raven had that went back and forth as she moved. The face was Carth was always behind watching it.
Never quite understood why there other games didn't have something with movement. The faces, well it was a long time ago and graphics were not quite a nice, but her pony tail moved.

Yeah I agree and even Tomb Raider has a fwe issues with clippping but at least they'er willing to try and make hair that looks somewhat realistic and i think that's all anyone is asking for really. Not to make perfect looking hair as I think that's quite hard even with todays tech but at least to try. I don't think anyone will expect them to get it 100% perfect straight out the box. Even in Inquisition I've noticed a fwe clipping issues with my armour and the weapons I'm carrying when the flap on the back blows in the wind. But I don't mind it because it's showing that they're trying to make things look better. The fact the armour is moving with you and in the environment is in itself a step in the right direction I think. All we're asking really is for Bioware to rty and make a little bit moer of an effort in that area. Because i believe they have the ability they just need to put it into practice.

Yeah there's an old game that I've got called Dreamfall the longest Journey with a character like that called Zoe.
I quite liked the look she had in the game as well. Was planning of doing a playthrough of those games again after I'd finished my current Inquisition run. But we do need our characters to start having hair with a bit moer life than they currently do.
