Ugh, I just can't even imagine running around with unpinned long hair or even pinned hair with pieces in the eyes in a combat situation. When you are doing something athletic, you don't want hair in your eyes. You don't want hair swinging around that can be grabbed or get caught in something. I was involved in martial arts for years and never ever ever considered leaving my hair down. Same thing when I ride horses, my hair goes up and a helmet goes on. If I left it down, I would not be able to see as it constantly gets in the eyes.  When I'm creating a character and looking at the hair choices I'm thinking about what is practical and looks good. I've posted some styles that would work as an example previously in this thread.

Wel if you prefer short option's or o0ther options then I'm suer ther e will be all we'er doing is asking for a wider range of options which is what this game needs especially after the limitations of DAI. I can understqand why they were there given DAi is the first game on this engine for Bioware but really Bioware shouldn't have any moer excuses now they've had more time to work on it and perfect these things.

Just outsource the hair to CDProjekt RED, or better yet the entire game.

Yeah what i've seen of the games they do seem to have done long hair quite well. I haven't got around to playing the games yet but I do have them and I'm looking forward to it. Just finishing up a few other things first.

I think in Sci-Fi games long hair is okay. Short hair is okay. Medium length hair is okay. Bald is okay.

Why limit possibilities?

I'd love to see a range of options in cc so that my characters can match my play-style for that play-thru.

Some Shepards had bobs, some pony-tails, some long hair (mods).

Exactly

Eh, it's a game with faster than light travel and mass effect relays. I'm not too concerned with realism. Besides. "long hair" never moves. Short hair never moves, for that matter. Shepard got blown from one end of the council chamber, knocked against a wall, and almost blacked out. Not a hair out of place.

Edit: Not saying you're wrong in real life situations but that's sci-fi fiction. Anything goes :)

Hair in Inquisition was beyond bad. But I don't think TW3 is a model to copy either because to me their constantly moving hair looks like this.

Witcher people should learn restraint when flaunting their amazing tech. In the second game it was bloom, HDR and super duper sampling pumped up beyond all reason. Now those effects are more measured and reasonable so the third game looks better as a result... but the shiny new tech of today is hairworks, so once again they go full on like omg look at our hair tech, aren't we awesome, look at it move, look at it not clip, look at it, look at us. And the final result suffers from that.

Last i checked the Witcher games are pretty popular so they must be doing some things right. Also it all lo0oks fine to me based on what I've seen. I don't think anyone would expect it to be perfect at first after all neither was Tomb Raider but the new one looks like it may have improved on this tech. Presonally I think it's time that Boiware showed that it's prepared to put in an effort in areas like this. This thread is merely suggesting to Bioware different ways in which they can do that. Ultimately however it's up to them to decide whether to go with any of them and we accept that.

If they can do boob bounce, they can do hair bounce.

Let's have the hair not look like you haven't washed it for a month.

Except hair doesn't really bounce, I mean, not outside of Pantene commercials. There was some weird "hair physics" going on in DA2 is all I know, with those bowl haircuts. I'd love to see a long ponytail that actually sways when you turn your head. I still think EVE has the best hair physics ever, and they do have a great ponytail. It actually looks like a ponytail and doesn't have a bump at the top and the weird flip at the end. And it moves! And it doesn't look like straw. But, your pilot never goes anywhere, so they can get away with it. I still think it's possible though.

Just to be clear, we don't know if Jesus had long hair (not even if he existed), the man representes as Jesus in paints is Cesare Bórgia, not Jesus.

Sounds good. Let's also have the boobs be like they ain't been washed in a month. Let the protag be like hey, the sweat is reaching critical mass, lemme just spray the sweets pots with a showerhead real quick. And the squad just has to sit there while she rinses her sweet spots.

Default Fem Shep hair of ME3 was fine. My main two complaints were the casual clothes for my female Shep and those skinny arms. *shivers* ewe, just creepy.

DAI managed to find that awesome sweet spot of having no good looking short hairstyles for men as well as no good looking long hairstyles for women.

I was honestly astounded.

Bioware needs to import some of those Korean MMO designers, they'll know what to do.

Can't say I've ever played EVE so never seen it the FF13 games has some nice hair physics in it which is good. I wouldn't asy i'm a big fan of Final Fanjtasy but that's one nice thing i can say about it. If Bioware wanted to keep it simpple that might be one way to go about doing it. Ultimately it's their call

Go look at some Korean MMO's or something.  Good Lord.

While we're at it, they should take all of their aesthetic cues from Korean MMOs.

would enjoy some long hair options for both male and female character. And some physics so that if you don't have the helmet on, it moves.

I've used gel which has a similar effect to that.

Agreed! Unless of course its the kind of clipping where half the hair sinks into the skull or something then that would bother me, like the clipping I get on the qunari bun style for example that kind of clipping would bug me. But clipping as an excuse I'm not buying it, so better/long/braided hair pretty please :D

It bothers me more when its hair sinking into my skull than weapons going through my body my mage Hawke had a good amount of that

I've never had that happen before maybe I didn't pick the 'right' hair.

Well if Bioware is fine with that kind of clipping then they can't use it as an excuse for longer hairs :D

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with BW and hair. I'm beginning to think they just have bad taste. ME3 hair was hideous, but DAI managed to out do even that. I was astonished.

They've got some work to do on a few things, tbh. Eyes being another thing that needs work, and overall fluidity of movement of the characters.

Well some of the styles in DA2 were quite nice there was a nice shoulder length style which I've used on 2 of my femhawkes so far

This is it in this vid or at least one of the ones  I like in DA2

There is another one with a fringe across the forehead which I also quite like but I haven't used that one yet. I may do when I next do a femhawke run but don't know yet.

If they can bring some looks like this back or something like Miranda/Ashley's hairstyles with a bit of hair physics that would be great. Obviously if they can't do the hair physicfs then fair enough as long as they give us more options. BHut we definetely need to see more than what we got in DAI I think
