Yes, I liked the hair better in DA2. Don't remember the hair from ME2 because I just imported my Shep, so I didn't check them out there.

I liked alot of things they did in DA2. I thought the characters were more fluid in their movements. I liked their idle animations. I liked how the companions were able to stand closer to the pc than in DAI. In DAI, my companions are usually 6 feet to 20 feet away from my pc at all times. And usually with their face planted in the side of a mountain somewhere.

Regardless, people begged for better hair for ME3, and it was bad. People begged for better hair in DAI, and it was unbelievably awful.

Sooo, yeah. Maybe some folks that helped animate DA2 left?

Eh, it's a game with faster than light travel and mass effect relays. I'm not too concerned with realism. Besides. "long hair" never moves. Short hair never moves, for that matter. Shepard got blown from one end of the council chamber, knocked against a wall, and almost blacked out. Not a hair out of place.

lol, yeah, Shep's helmet hair was hilarious in that scene!

For me, though, I'm willing to suspend disbelief in the case of FTL and ME relays as they are just part of the science fiction setting that makes its' universe possible. My willing suspension of disbelief only goes so far though. And, for me, I hit my limit when I see high heels in combat, no helmets and armor, and long hair in the eyes. Getting those details right are what makes the universe real enough for me to engage in their ideas of ME relays and the like. I want some science fiction but it needs to be grounded in mundane details of  reality or I'm yanked out of the game.

I want short white greyish hair that looks both practical and sexy like one of Christie's hairstyles in DOA5.

And violet eyes too.

I'd like that, but what we also need is longer hair options with proper physics, like Samus Aran's haircut:

Hmm, I suppose I could roll with a longer hairstyle like this white/grey bobcut in an alternate run.

yeah same here really I don't look at the hair options in ME2/3 much either as I normally use the one I port over with my Shepard. Although my last femshep started with the Bun head and then I switched to having the hair down in 2/3 but kept everything else.

As far as I am concerned, if Bioware want their game to look graphically impressive. Hair should be taken seriously.

I know people are probably sick of hearing about Witcher 3 but that looked fine even without the Nvidia Hairworks switched on. We don't need the fancy 'every follicle of hair has physics' but some hair animation is a must! Dragon Age: Inquisition looked fine but the hair was the big sore thumb that stuck out (and that's on high/max settings! It looked like freaking Lego on low!).

It wouldn't be too much to ask as most alien races don't even have hair! Hell, I can't think of any alien race that did! Maybe that explains the lack of options in the original trilogy. Let's have some hairy aliens! Where's Mass Effect's version of Chewbacca?!

Exactly we don't need every hair moving as long as it's enough to make it look convincing. All we need really is it moves as you do a bit and also moves when your outside in a windy location say like the Storm coast or Haven in DAI as for ME's vresion of Chewbacca i always assumed that was Wrex :P . Obviously if your aboard your ship or in a building you won't get so much of it But cretainly if you end up vuisiting a place like those DAI locations. Maybe if you'er visiting a place like Virmire you would expect to see some hair movement due to the wind off the sea. Espe4cially given that beaches can be windy.

Given DAI despite the hair looks pretty solid in all other areas I'd asy they do care about the look. Also the Mass Effect games looked pretty impressive graphics wise especially the explosions. I love it when you shoot a Ymir mechs head off and it goes all nuclear in ME2 like KAAAABOOOM!!! Really impressive stuff

I think in DAI's case they can use the excuse they're on a new engine as it was the first Bioware game to use the Frostbite engine so it's mor difficult to figure things out with Andromeda however they don't have that excuse any more. To be fair though they did a pretty good job with what they had though given they had 4 different species to think about Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Qunari Given that they should learn from DAI and they only need to worry about hairstyles for humans because you only play a human in ME it should be slightly easier to figure out.

Three of the four races all had the same hair styles, though. Except Qunari.

I don't mind unisex hairstyle choices. In fact, I prefer that. But I still expect more choices in hair styles than what they offered in DAI.

And although hair seems like a small concern--which...it is, for me, tbh. The choice still says alot about your character. Are they more conservative, with a more conservative hair style? Are they ex-miltary, for example, and still all gung ho on following strict military protocol? Or is your pc going to be more of a wild child, bucking the system? These character traits can be easily shown through simple choice of hair style. Much like irl. People's choice of hair style can say alot about them.

I would like the opportunity to help define my PC in such a way within BW's CC.

We'll see, though. We'll see what they do.

The hairstyles maybe similar but the other features the charactres have aren't though and maybe it's the fact the CC couldn't take it all. I don't know it all takes up resources but hopefully they'll get it right next time.

Some short cut suggestions for BW, things i want to see in the next chargen (even it is a pain in the *** to mesh and texture all these. I know how much time comsuming work that is - just take your time and do things right :)). I appreciate the idea of long hair ( i don't even mind clipping issues for the sake of long hair ingame), but i think a variety of short hair for both genders could be very nice, too.

Dreads & curls - for men

I know that there are soooo much more styles. These pics are the results of an 30 minutes research on google :P.

I hope they see that hair has volume, that hair has texture and that shortcuts have a biiiig variety and could be fashionable, nice and practical for military and normal life at the same time. The bald or very very short hairstyles were ok in my opinion in DA:I, but lagged a bit of creativity or fading effects.

I hope they see how a beard can bring style to a man's face. Even if he is part of the military.

I love the idea of braided short hair - i liked all suggestions in this thread.

I love the idea of dreads and rastas - something i missed in all games so far - and decent curly hair. Nice suggestion in this thread.

I love the idea, that BW will notice this thread and get some creative ideas or inspiration for upcoming game cgs (ME:A incl.).

So long have a nice day :D

Sorry for my bad english :/

As long as the hair options aren't as atrocious as Inquisition's was I'm fine. Even Mass Effect had decent hair in comparison.

Totally agree that, of the two series, ME had the better hair. The buns in ME3 were actually really good, but I just didn't use them.

And I'm sure it's unfair to compare the result of two different dev teams, but when you create hair in 2014 that's as bad as what we got in Inquisition then you deserve to be mocked.
