MP and SP should not have an effect on each other at all.

ideally they should even be separate games.

That's a rather funny ideal, since that means two price tags instead of one for those who, by some fluke of the universe, actually like to play both.

YEah well it would certainly up the chances of not having to play one to get the best outcome of the other.

EA would find a way. If anything, you've just doomed us all.

A interesting idea in my opinion would be to reward players with credits and XP in SP by winning matches in MP. I does not affect the plot of the game at all, but at the same time it gives an edge to players that play through MP. I would play MP in Inquisition a lot more if I got rewards in SP, but as it is, I don't even touch it.

SP mode should be unlocked only for those that complete the ME:A equivalent of ME3MP platinum solo.

That's it.  Axe MP completely.  Let's go back to being SP only.

Or we could have multiplayer characters add a passive defence bonus to an assigned home base. A settlement or outpost.
Those arn't part of the gameplay experience as much, they would be more of a number on the galaxy map, kinf of war assets in ME3.
The difference could be that they might be around if you visit the settlement. Then they might stand guard or sit in a cafeteria or something.

I'm not sure but didn't they say multiplayer could add some assets or Resources to the singleplayer Campaign.

It probably won't change endings, but it would add flavour. In ME3 War assets had minimal effects, it might have saved a few npc's that you never really meet or get to know.

MP or not the SP Campaign should reward you with an importable save for the next game in the series. I'm thinking we got a new trilogy, they hinted that we would explore other parts of the Andromeda Galaxy in later games.

I don't know what MP did you as a child or why you hate us, but these are good ideas.  We are not intruding on SP, but getting the recognition we deserve at the same time.  MP people put MANY hours into the games and really breath life into it.  As a fan, one should be proud of that.

I'm sure you tried the MP and got ridiculed off of it, but thats not our fault.   Everyone is a noob at something sometime.  You just have to have the fortitude to power through it and hit beast mode vs curl up in a corner.  MP is here to stay and because of that it is time for it to start making its way into the SP.  I would bet as a whole thousands and thousands and thousands of more hours have been spent in the MP than have in the SP.  That means a lot.

2.  There should be romance options that are only impressed with the top tier of sexual beasts.

:D Thanks man, that made my day.

As far as I'm concerned, the first principle should be that everything in the single player game should be obtainable by solely playing single player.

Now, that doesn't mean that playing multiplayer can't affect SP. For example, I wouldn't mind, say, having MP give you an exp boost in SP, provided that, should you do all the content, you can hit the XP cap without ever entering MP. Or MP can provide resources or money for SP, again, as long as you can eventually find sufficient money in SP to buy all the stuff.

No I have played it a decent amount, usually just to play a different class from my SP in order to get some biotics in if I am not playing a biotic class in SP for example.  I might play a match or two of MP but then I will procede to play the proper mode (SP) usualy anywhere from 2 to 4 hours in a sitting while I maybe devote 20 to 30 minutes to side mode (mp).   That is how it should be and the is proper and civilized way to procede. But you lost your man card and credibility when you started quoting the spice girls.

Curious.  You gained some man points with me by playing MP.  Lost them right after you said you spend more time in SP than you do MP.  That's insane.

If you saw the girl I hit while one of their songs was on you would give my man card back.  It only took me 1 day to fully romance her too.  Ashley nothing.  Shes too selfish with her body.  We have needs.  MP characters give it up right away as they know you both need it and it clears your head so you can focus and be more combat effective.  To each their own I guess.

When Bioware adds the sexual beast romance only option you will see a higher SP effectiveness by MP gamers as well.  If thats even possible to be any better than we already are.

They should put the entire budget and development team on the MP part, some summer intern can work on the SP mode, for those rare exceptions that play more SP than MP.

Anyone that plays MP should always get the worst possible ending, the best ending only unlocks if you never play MP.

That's life.  The people who do the most get the biggest shaft.  I'm ok with this.  We have killed way more Cerberus, Geth, Collectors and Reapers so its fitting.

But each would have a dedicated development budget, would share a ton of resources, and generate extra revenue for EA.

I'm surprised they haven't done it already.

This would also mean that players didn't have to buy the parts they didn't like. It's modular game sales, something I've been advocating for years. Just in a SP game, they could sell things like VO or a tactical camera as day 1 DLC.

MP should only be unlocked once you've completed the SP twelve times on nightmare, investigated every dialogue option, done every romance option, and completed every possible iteration of the story.

Come at me.

I have never even tried to play a BioWare game MP (unless you count the single-player MP mode in Baldur's Gate).

I don’t want to deal with peope in my leisure time.

I would bet as a whole thousands and thousands and thousands of more hours have been spent in the MP than have in the SP. That means a lot.

It means a bunch more server load. Sony once admitted that its ideal EverQuest customer was someone who paid the monthly fee but never played the game.

No content should be gated behind any other content. If I bought the game, I should get to play it how I like without having to jump through any extra hoops.

And SP should be balanced for play without any of the MP benefits (if there are any).

Frankly, having MP affect SP is a great way to get me not to play MP. I don’t want to ruin my SP playthrough, so I would never play MP if it ever produced any unavoidable SP consequences.

That's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.

EverQuest is an MMO with dedicated server hosting, ME3MP is not. It runs of P2P connections with a client side host, all the server requirements it really needs is a master server who's only job is to exchange IP addresses between clients.

All this is already integrated into Origin and will be running regardless.

Nightmare is the most "challenging" difficulty level only in the DA series, in ME it's called Insanity, nice try though.

MP needs an adult mode before it should even be considered as part of the game.  I tried it once, before the match some kid started squealing through my TV(no xbox mic), turned it off and never looked back.(I also happened to finish Mass Effect 3 around the same time, so obviously ending turned me off at same time)

Fix that problem BioWare and you can have MP in my SP game.

Also for the record, this thread is confusing, TC seems to have taking the gimmick of a hardcore competitive gamer, but Mass Effect 3 MP, is not a competitive game as you're still only playing against AI.  AI that is no more difficult than SP AI.  The only difference is, TC can get carried in MP but not in SP.

They should make it like Watchdogs, where MP players can drop into random SP playthroughs and start rekting them for monies and other loot. 2x rewards if you manage to make them get a critical mission failure.

It's like a virtual version of the football team captain taking some lame nerd's lunch money.
