I tell all players what to do indiscriminately, regardless of their gender. The noobs are the only ones that don't like it. The smart ones wise up quickly after beating the hardest challenges around.
I think no one can mistake me. If nothing else, the excessive use of smileys is dead giveaway.

Though I don´t recall anyone treating me differently in game. Everyone assumes I am man anyway(even when I played pink krogan). In chat.... it is sometimes slightly bumpy ride.
Damn lol, I thought you sounded like a young teenage boy when I helped you the other day. I'm useless.....
Oh, dear...
No, I'm a 30-year-old woman. ![]()
A family that slays together stays together. ;-)
Truth.

Well, this is awkward....

To be fair my sound was turned down pretty low. It was just high enough to hear you tell everyone to get over to me for barrier lol
I'm a 40 year old guy. We never grow up.

Yeah, I was only two Undying away from the personal challenge and someone was deciding to go off alone and ruin it for us (me), so I had to say, "Hey, come by Smurf, he'll barrier us" because, really, I'd have pelted the controller through my TV if it scrubbed up again at the end. LOL
Growing up is highly over-rated; I don't recommend it. My husband is 43 and games about as much as I do. He's got his PS4 in the living room and I've got mine in my Woman Cave™, and it all works out rather dandy. ![]()

My wife is 37 and gave up gaming after our 2nd daughter was born in January this year. Our first will be 9 on Monday.
Couldn't believe she liked gaming. We played Planetside (the original one) on PC, FFXI, FFXIV 1.0-1.23 + 2.0 together. Along with other "meh" MMOs along the way.
I'd rather avoid her asking "Who's that woman you are talking to online?" ![]()
I don't speak much on the Mic anyway thesedays. I have a loud voice I'm told and have been known to wake the baby once or twice ![]()

To avoid trouble in your household, I am fine with being a 14-year-old boy or whatever.

Haha. I like it. I will run this by her later. I have a feeling I know where she will tell me to shove it, though. ![]()
Oh you fooled me too! Though I can also high-5 you in that regard, probably not in regards to the forums but MMOs. I suppose my penis jokes aren't very lady-like.
I usually shower & watch a Disney classic after prolonged conversation with Roy.
Hahahaha... I made my wife play a priest in WOW. She refused to heal me and went shadow instead.

Somehow, I think that might cause even more trouble. Best to be honest.
"Yes honey, she is a woman. She's a 60 year old chain smoker from New Zealand. It's not like I'm going to jump on a boat in the middle of the night, and go bang her, is it? We just enjoy slaughtering pixels together. Sorry I was so loud on my mic, so please go back to sleep."

I had no idea you cared.

How can you say such a bad thing about a woman!?!?! I mean really.....a New Zealander?

Hahah I thought using smileys like punctuation gave me away too but I guess I was wrong
That obvoiusly gives us free rein to use... more smileys ![]()
Not going to lie, as soon as I understand a player is female, I have an unshakeable compulsion to become terribly pseudo-chivalric.
Not that I constantly assist them directly because I assume they are less skilled, but in particular I will involuntarily rank them with higher priority when two teammates are in need of help or reviving, regardless of the class they play.
*snip*
I do understand that's a facette of sexism, too.

Sorry, first thing that came to mind ![]()
You're right that it's a form of sexism as well and it's good to think about that stuff and be aware.
Why is this even being discussed? Replace 'woman' with 'black' or 'gay' and realise how ridiculous this thread is. Stay classy BSN.
Gya, don't jinx it.

Seriously, beyond discussing how toxic WoW's culture can be, that whole woman = healer thing is a bit ridiculous. Yes, obviously the desire to play whac-a-mole is correlated with gender identity.
The only person (who I know) that holds true for is my my badass grandma, who for some reason plays the **** out of WoW but refuses to do damage.
