According to the listing that IGN out up for the games announced at E3 this year they list Mass Effect: Andromeda for PS4 and Xbox One only. Is this true or will there be a PC Port. If it is Console Only There will be 1 less game for me to pre-order.

In the "Introducing Mass Effect Andromeda" thread pinned above, Conal Pierse mentions that efforts will be focused on PC and current gen consoles - so yes, it will be on PC.

If there's a PC "port", then I'll be extremely reluctant to buy this game. It needs to be developed with the PC in mind from the word go, not ported over after being made for consoles.

Pff, ME1 was ported by outsource company and it's best PC version in trilogy.

All ME PC ports are quite lazy  - they barely have any graphical settings.

At least they run at consistent 60 fps even on mediocre hardware.

Except for that Mako.

I've always seen people complain about the Mako, but playing Mass Effect so many times on the 360, I never had any issue and figured people were just doing their overreacting schtick that you see on game forums.

But having just rescued Liara in my first Mako mission on PC, I now see where those people were coming from.

Didn't have any problems with it. Quite sluggish, yeah, but still simple.

I just hope they have gamepad support for the PC version this time around. It would be moronic if they didn't.

If they don't, well, I guess they just sold an Xbone.

Hell yes.  I'd have said exactly the same thing, if the demoing of the original on XB1 backwards compatibility hadn't sold me an XB1 last week.

Compared to 360, it turns are so bad.

But TBH this may be more me playing the 360 version of Mass Effect for 100s of hours over the years and mastering the Mako thumbpad controls.  And now moving to WASD to move the Mako is a big shift in direction.

Then you won't be buying any PC game since they are all designed around using a controller over a keyboard/mouse first, hardware wise consoles are basically low-end PCs and with how people were whining about the PC controls for Dragon Age: Inquisition expect to have a lot of commands bound to one button and not broken apart.

They should all be remappable on all platforms.

And we should be able to uncouple commands that are bound to the same key by default.

I liked the Mako controls on PC.

If course, I also totally remapped them, because I remap the controls for every game before I play it.

Mapping keys seems to be a majority of an issue only to PC users, I won't say that it isn't a problem for some console users, but most of the time its a complaint I seem mostly the PC side.

As far as bundling commands it becomes a problem with the engine itself and can lead to problems for each time you press the button it is preforming all those actions and with how people don't like unforeseen issues it could be problematic trying to predict what might happen. Unlike with predetermined bundling you can test for all those actions when you are testing the game for it is always like that.  At least that was the theory behind it when I was in school, which might have changed since then.

Except bundled controls like that makes the controls context-sensitive, and that produces unexpected results for the player.

Console players should want keymapping, too. It's an accessibility issue - not all players are equally abled. Also, I don't see why consoles don't support KBM.

If I could map it, so I could control the Mako with the mouse, it would be awesome.  Really hoping ME:A has that option, vehicle controls with WASD, or the arrow keys, or really any combination of 4 buttons will lead to bad turning.

I play a lot of driving games with WASD. I don't find it to be a problem.

It would be nice if MEA doesn't choke on multiple input methods like DAI does. If you have a joystick or a steering wheel, you could use that for piloting the mako.

If I can use a gamepad and a KBM at the same time in Skyrim, I don't see why I can't in DAI.

Absolutely.

I played Half-Life with a mouse+flightstick. Everything should be customizable.
