Hello, I'm new here. Just started playing around the time Dragonslayer came out because I wanted to play Isabela. Of course I came to find out it's quite a grind to get her LOL. Anyway, what is the best rogue class to solo with for cunning prestige?

I ask solo because I live in the midwest and apparently there are few midwestern PC players. After sitting waiting and waiting and waiting to connect to a match, I just decided I'd go solo. That didn't turn out so well, fresh new player mind you. Pretty much gave up on multiplayer, but I kept opening the weekend challenge chests. So I get the Reaver in a chest, with self heals I now could make progress!

Soloed with the Reaver to 20, got lucky on some decent blue 2 handers, Staff of the Dynamo and a good blue rogue dagger. Unlocked the Arcane warrior, breezing to 20 with him, and can finally manage threatening solo. Only up to 4% health on kill on two 2% rings. Haven't prestiged yet, but I'd like to find a rogue class that I can prestige for some cunning. Resources are a bit limited for me, so I'd like some advice on which rogue to unlock.

Obviously things are a bit slow for me, but I'd like to get a few prestiges in my cunning and try waiting around for a group again sometime. After lurking around on the forum I see that I, with zero prestige, would be dead weight in a group anyway even if i could connect. I'm hoping to better represent myself in groups, should I happen to connect. Cunning seems to be the best bang for your buck prestige.

Oddly enough I do find the challenge of playing solo kind of fun. So I am not completely discouraged from doing it this way. If I can't ever connect, playing solo is still fun enough for me, but I will be missing out on dragons.

Thanks for reading.

yes, the matchmaking system is underwhelming at best :(

best advice: make friends - it might be a bit wobbly to play with them (due to lag) but it's the best way to level up and if they are more experienced, they could help and carry you if need be.

for the rogues: Izzy is the one with the highest survivability imho (if you have her?).

Rogues are squishy but have a good damage output but when you don't have a good bow/dagger it is way harder (hence the friend advice)

EDIT: feel free to send me a FR, I'm on PC as well - but in Europe, so the connection would be wobbly ^^

IMHO you are going to struggle to solo rogue classes early on. I would stick with that Arcane Warrior and try to farm some decent gear. Loot every treasure room to get your item level up as fast as possible, save the gold for the weekend class chests when they are on offer.

However, if you don't like that plan, your options are daggers or bows. The trouble with the dagger classes is that they work much better with someone else to draw aggro. If you have a team mate, you can stealth behind a target then pound away on it - the Easy to Miss perk means that the target will not turn round and smite you. This works incredibly well on treasure room bosses. However, without a teammate, everything is just going to attack you when you un-stealth and you will be in trouble. The perk I Was Never There can help, but you need to be able to one-hit-kill stuff to get stealth back up, which is hard without good gear.

The bow classes are great at range once you get a decent bow (so farm that decent bow, I used a Balanced Sunbow for ages). Up close you can escape with Leaping Shot, but if that fails, you are in trouble. Archer with the upgraded Longshot is probably your best bet. You should be able to get through to the final wave and then get to take your chances with the boss.

Currently my weapon options are Rebound dagger, a white sacrificial dagger and an Enchanted Sunbow. The Rebound dagger was from a large chest, gotten sort of lucky with large chests. Yeah, I was hoping the class only chests would be available this weekend. Oh,I tried to solo with the Archer, but it didn't go very well LOL. Figure it'll likely be rough going with any rogue though it seems.

Haven't managed to unlock Isabela yet, trying to save for her but I'm getting distracted with armor upgrades for the Reaver and Arcane Warrior. Seems the final upgrade isn't quite worth it so am skipping it for now. Unlocking a new rogue will further deplete resources of course, but I think I'm eyeing the Assassin. General consensus is that the Alchemist is the weakest rogue, and I haven't heard much of the hunter.

Hello, I am in London UK. Feel free to add me to FL my name in game is the same "Zantazar".

As Dekibra said, connection may be a bit wobbly, but I have been playing a while and with some of my friends can run you through some perilous games.

Generally I am on:

Weekdays: 16:00 to 20:00 UK time

Weekends: 05:00 to 20:30 UK time (I know I am mad, but I love the game)

I do have an occasional break for a bio/snack :)

Also, as you are probably aware there are many character builds posted in the forums and also on the net in general. I have made a simple Excel file showing quite a few of the character builds that I use.  If you want a copy mail me at zantazar@gmail.com.

Good luck.

I'd hold off on unlocking the assassin and save your materials for Isabella. She really is a class (or 5) above the other rogues for survival.

very true...

the ranged rogues (Archer & Hunter) are better than the Assassin imo because they can at least stay back and out of sight: most important advice though: NEVER ENGAGE THE ENEMY FIRST AS A ROGUE!

Wouldn't it be wiser to first get some constitution promotes in before focussing on cunning?

assassin gets fun past lvl 15 (permastealth, sort of), but this doesnt last very long until 20

i seem to be too dumb to play isa, although i dont have the dragon dagger yet, no luck

my preferred rogue is the hunter right now with explosive shot, leaping shot, throwing blades and unupgraded elemental mines

Your really going to struggle without heal on kill, in fact when you get some it will decide your kit choice. Assassin struggle to solo coz archers can still see you if you go into stealth in front of them.
Archer and Hunter really need a good bow.
Izzy is doable but you will struggle with boss fights due to open terrain.
I solo with Archer all the time and have learnt what to use vs each opponent, when to fall back and how to slowly draw the next wave. This takes time.
Personally I think Katari is very good for soloing
along with AW. Stick with these guys until you get quality gear for your Rouges.
And if you do ever run into other players then send
them a friend request :)

I've been playing for ages and only in the last week have I gained two warrior promotes.

I think you can do without them if you focus on the killpower aspects of the other two stats.

Isabela once you learn the best way to play her as mentioned is very good.

My favoruite is still that little ball of hate Luka.

Isabela with upgraded flank attack (2x elusive), broadsides and dead men tell no tales passive. Naturally evasive passive too if possible. Concentrate on keeping elusive up and try to use flashing steel in groups of vendetta tagged enemies. Always tag enemies before attacking them.

There might be more efficient builds, but I find it about as survivable as rogues get.

Getting a friends list is your best bet.

Together will help you complete higher levels, getting more xp and gold.

Then concentrate on unlocking Izzy, then go to town with her.

Send a request, I'll try to help.

Always nice to see new players in MP.

Good Hunting.

Cause I've been carrying you :P

It's really because you like Isabella that much :)

To solo as rogues these two classes are the bet since in zone 5 you have to deal with the bosses and the mob. You need aggro management or damage control, stealth or elusive. Ranged damage since you will be shooting as you move, mines or crossbow. Hunter is also doable because he can stealth then shoot.

Thanks for the advice guys. Thinking I'll farm more with the Arcane Warrior, maybe prestige him some and just keep saving up for Isabela. I haven't bothered logging in the past few days with the no gold and no XP issues. Need all the gold I can get haha!

What are some of the best builds for a solo oriented Isabela? I've watched a few youtube videos and have a good idea already, I'm just unsure if they are current with all the skill changes in patches. I'm using Drasca's Arcane Warrior build, so I likely have answered my own question on where to find what I'm looking for.

Oh yeah, I don't have a mic for voice chat. Is that an issue? From what I read people barely speak anyway.

People end to be doing other things while playing I find.

I know that I'll not jump on mic if my woman is with me as I always think that's a bit rude (plus she says I put on my 'Internet Voice' and honestly I'm too embarrassed about knowing that!).
