I remember it as one of those underrated gems like Atlantis: The Lost Empire or Treasure Planet sadly getting lost in obscurity amongst the rise of Pixar & 3D animated cartoons -- I do miss, seeing some good old fashioned hand-drawn animation.

I suppose it was somewhat similar, but with an added dose of 90's cheese.

It really does break my heart that Atlantis is so underrated cause it really is such a wonderful movie. While the Pixar films and CGI works in general have their moments for sure, I'll admit I'll probably always prefer hand-drawn animation myself.

So that one was a little after my time.  I had just turned 21 when that came out and had other things to do.

Maybe I'll track it down on Netflix or Hulu.

 

But it did just give me a serious flashback to this:

Yup! I loved it to death as a kid. Funny enough, that's the first thing that came to my mind too.

Now after watching tons and tons of anime I saw my mum re watching this (she loves it) and I really saw just how much detail went into the animation.

 

Plus.

 

That dog is the best.
