I hope America is avoided, there are enough countries alone that can make exciting the stories and also provide variation to the setting.

A family stuck in a foreign country while on holiday and a single member of the family who has no clue about his family back in his/her home country, brother and sister (no more father/daughter please), perhaps many years into the future where civilization is coming back, a soldier/reporter in the Middle East, Asia or even maybe a small or isolated country like those in the Himalayas. Maybe even North Korea?

So many possibilities but I just know its going to take place in typical America as always. The apocalypse genre could get a breath of fresh air if they just tried something different.

Okay:

1) Who cares about foreign countries or the people who inhabit them - I mean, you call a vacation a "holiday," which means I can't take you seriously

2) Ellie isn't Joel's daughter, though they do share a father/daughter relationship

3) lol North Korea

4) Who cares about foreign countries or the people who inhabit them*

5) I don't care about The Last of Us, so whatever, man - the 7th Circle of Hell can be the setting for all I care

*Other than Eva Green, because I love Eva Green

Bet Joel and his serious case of old man strength would so beat the crap out of the 7th circle of hell.

I really, really think TLoU 2 is a waste of the potential ND has since they seem to be in their glory days right as we speak. TLoU was a one-off, or it should've been. The setting is, to be frank, really generic and been-there-done-that in comics, tv-shows movies etc. it's not interesting enough in itself but the star of TLoU was the human story between Joel and Ellie and that came to a close.

I just don't see them continuing Joel and Ellie's plot without bastardizing it somehow. It's one of those games where the beauty of it is how it ends and continuing it seems cheap.

I really hope ND just moves on to some new IP that might define PS4, like I felt TLoU was PS3's swan-song and largely defined my overall impression of that system.

ND's glory days have been done for ages, all they do now is make gritty edgy games, enjoyable ones(if overrated) but still gritty edgy games, there's no variety anymore.

Translation: I WANT CRASH TEAM RACING! :P

It'd be nice if they do try a few other things just because I like variety. They don't have to do a sequel to Crash Team Racing but they could do something in that vein of absurdity. Too many serious games these days, every now and again I do like my colourful thingies.
