ME:A MP: What do you want out of the multiplayer part of the game?

Would you want it to be similar to Mass Effect 3 where you have a diverse array of character kits each capable of soloing the game if needed OR does it need to be more a cooperative game where different classes fill different needs?

 

Squad size? Is four player coop enough or can that be expanded?

 

Active enemies? ME3MP had enemy spawns of 8. Can the new systems support larger enemy spawns? Would you want that?

I would say above all, keep it cooperative.

 

I'm not going to say that PVP will ruin it, but it would certainly sour it for me. Let other games do that and keep ME focused on teamwork.

I would say above all, keep it cooperative.

 

I'm not going to say that PVP will ruin it, but it would certainly sour it for me. Let other games do that and keep ME focused on teamwork.

PVP would be really difficult IMO to implement and keep the game diversely power based. Destiny has powers but they are really long CD powers and it's more focused on weapons play only. I don't want that for ME.

I don't want to have any of the SP tied to the MP mode this time around. Forcing me to play the MP won't make me like the MP in fact it will make me hate the MP more.

Seriously, if BioWare is going to forego the 'alien' aliens in favor of more humans in rubber suits in SP, I would at least like to scuttle around as one of the space bugs in MP.

MP being an optional shortcut for EMS in ME3 was fine, though.

to play as other species like ME3MP. Much more depth to the character customization...cuz i want my Asari or Turian to be distinct.... campaign-style missions (that last batch of DLC for DAIMP did a much better job at mp...so there is hope).

Same here. I don't want content locked out, but a tie in between the two modes would be most welcome. 

 

Being able to see your MP character in a cutscene would be a nice little touch that brings the SP and MP together without forcing one to play the other.

Asari and Krogan and coop. Gun, melee and power mechanics and balance like in ME3. I'm all open for further suggestions.

 

No SP development nibbling at the MP budget!

What if we had a way around that? Let's say you could gain credits in MP to be used in SP or maybe some kind of ship improvement etc. These credits could also be gotten through side quests or exploration. Boom you have incentive for and reward for whatever playstyle you want to enjoy.

Playable rachni would have been sweet. Only issue is that they don't use a gun like every other species, but it's not as if there aren't other characters like the Geth Juggernaut or Krogan Warlord who have fundamentally different mechanics (no sprint or taking cover). Hell if they want to be lazy, just put the gun in an apparatus on their back like with the Ravagers.

We should have gotten combat rachni before goddamn volus.

Yes. Customization is kind of lacking in comparison to some games.

No pre-set characters like we have in DAMP.

 

 

Its an interesting idea on paper, but I really don't want to load up my character only to discover that they are a conceited bigot (looking at you Keeper!) or to hear the same two lines repeated 50 times in a single match about how much my character hates ketchup.

 

 

Unless BioWare is going to take a serious look at the MP character interaction and possibly take a page from Evolve (seriously, the hunters in that MP centric title have personality and dialogue on par with some of BioWare's SP companion characters) I would prefer that they just give us the blank slate characters like we had in  ME 3 MP.

Volus were fine. BW thought it would be a support class but it ended being one of the toughest kits in the game if you know how to actually play. The problem I have is there were four Volus and only two ****** Salarians. A damn council race only gets two characters?

Well the recent DLC for DAMP has me hopeful that we will get some more unique and 'alien' kits for ME:A MP. The Virtuoso added a completely new gameplay mechanic and if the next piece of content adds playable Mabari then there will really be no excuse for not adding in something like a Rachni, or Elcor (IMO).

I want it to have everything ME3 MP has... and then add to it. Don't completely change a working recipe, enhance it.

 

Bigger maps would be fun but they need to be actually usable. DAMP had large maps but you could only use one part of them at the time, because of gates.

 

No pre-set characters, no dependence on certain classes for special tasks (opening gates)... well, stick to what worked in ME3.

Aye. I would assume that BioWare perhaps wanted to make every multiplayer character instantly recognisable-- hence the lack of options in customisation. I don't mind that they maintain the same goal, but I've no doubt they can do that whilst adding significant customisation to the multiplayer portion of the game.

1) It must be stable and have stable connection and performance.  (A big weakness in DAMP)

2) i am fine with the same basic premise as ME3MP, squad size etc,  It worked.

3) Mentioned previously in this thread and I've mentioned it before.  Co-op squad space battles.  Equip and upgrade your ship, squad of 4.

4) People will hate this next one, PvP mode.  I see nothing wrong with a totally separate lobby button with pvp squads of 4 vs 4.  If you hate pvp then never push the button.

 

I am mostly fine with the general ability, weapons and even RNG store dynamic of Me3

 

Thus your main menu would look like this.

 

A)  Squad based

B) PvP team based

C) Space battle.
