To add, could you imagine getting Shockwaved through cover, or Paladin / Sexbot snap freezing through walls, or the Goon squad smashing through them, Shadows would insta-kill everyone. As you said, it would just not function without a mechanics re-design.

Other games I've played where stealth is strong with pvp, those classes tend to dominate the population and for good reason.

To add to the conversation chain, you also have to consider what the inclusion of PvP would do to the variety of species and kits that we currently have in the MP.

Asymmetrically competitive games are very, very, very, very (you get the idea) hard to balance properly, and most developers simply forgo the elements that make the various classes unique and instead streamline everything. Do we really want a PvP mode where we can only play as the six vanilla human classes?

If the ME 3 MP was a competitive shooter, I can bet that kits like the Volus, or Geth Juggernaut, or the Krogan Battlemaster/Warlord would have never seen the light of day; sacrificed in the holy pursuit of balance.  <_< Quarian Master Race mentioned Destiny, and that is a perfect example of class homogenization in order to incorporate PvP balance. Did a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock really feel that different from each other?

Ugh, people -> no PVP because of the things that one guy said.

Also, please understand that this wouldn't iterate directly from DAMP.  Meaning there's no reason to list downfalls of that game.

Also, why bother saying "better servers" or "no glitches"? ... really?  Do you feel that needs to be said aloud at this point?

To be constructive: I've wanted various paths (like DAMP) for MEMP for a while now.  Don't lock me into one small arena when I'm supposed to be saving a city.

More in-game lore = something other than waves

The biggest thing I want to see is variety in the various species and kits available, with completely unique play styles and gameplay mechanics. And as always, I want to see playable Rachni, and Elcor (Hanar might be too much at this time, but I'm not opposed to their inclusion).  It's time the non-humanoid aliens got their time to shine.

If the SP is going to be human centric with nothing but soapboxing on trending social topics, or daddy issues at least give me the chance to skitter around as a Rachni Brood Warrior in MP.

Dedicated server hosting or significant improvements to the P2P netcode and stability from what we saw in DAMP.

That's the truly big one.

I think we already have an idea of Andromeda's multiplayer mechanics. It's called Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer. Do you really think BioWare would continue developing a multiplayer element that few people play? DAI's MP is a test bed.

(Not the combat of course, they won't be able to copy that. That'll have to be new.)

This.

+1.

Plus no PvP mode, which would gimp the hell out of MP due to balance considerations.

Ditch the rng. I want to earn my unlockables through challenges and gathering the necessary credits. The only thing that should be random are Weekend Challenge awards. Ditch the rng. I dont want to spend a million credits for Shotgun amps only to get cryo rounds 3 that I've already maxed out. Ditch the rng, give us a store wth higher yet realistic prices, and let gear purchases be specfic to what we want.

Ditch the rng.

Keep the main mechanics that made ME3MP so interesting in the first place (variety being a key point) and build around that. So dual-wielding weapons, proper environmental hazards and traps and better movement/cover mechanics would be ideal

I see that the ME community is so divided over PVP. Personally, I don't want PVP.

I was a HUGE Halo player for YEAAAAAAAAAARS and I love it! It's a great series of games but when I tried ME3M for the first time and got into it...I loved it. It felt so different working together, truly working together (most of the time...ok some of the time) cooperatively with a team....because in all honesty....even if you are not top score on the scorboard at the end....it doesn't matter. It's cooperative.

This game truly brought me to a place where I was actually coordinating with other players and even in moments where I was in pug lobbies it allowed for connecting with more and more people as this community has one thing that is hugely different than others and its that people here genuinely want to help most of the time. Because of that you could actually throw your mic on and say....hey...how do you spec your HS or your Turian...and someone would say XXXX and XXXX and XXXX because its cooperative right...as opposed to it being competitive pvp....the other player most likely may not be inclined to even talk as they are thinking...ahhh yeahhh...I'm going to pwn some noobs! :/

Anyway, if there is some PVP...fine. Personally, I think MEA Multiplayer should build up on what it knows went really good about ME3 multiplayer.

What did I JUST say?  They. Won't. Iterate. From. D.A.M.P.

No. Why would they choose to continue a mode/system that is widely considered "tolerable" (DAMP)  over a mode/system that literally everyone in existence loves (MEMP)?  Its downright inane.  On top of that the wildly different playstyles between the two games preclude nearly any of the systems to be shared.  Heck, following that reasoning DAMP would have mirrored Mass Effect's playstyle instead of Shadow Realms'.

...I'm trying more to whole-heartedly disagree, and less to insult... Not sure if thats coming across.

Yes, cause I'm obviously talking about gameplay mechanics and not what lies below it in network engineering. -_-

That it wont feature fantasy rpg sword and board tactical combat doesn't mean the underlying systems wont see reuse.

I meant both.  Neither the top level gameplay, nor the ground level coding, nor anything else of substance will see reuse (in Mass Effect).  The Mass Effect studio may get a "Lessons Learned" memo or two from the Dragon Age studio, but thats probably it.  There's no reason to believe it WOULD see reuse (in Mass Effect).
