Yep. I always confuse that with the armor, which I see the name of more often in the game.

That's weird that your Hero sent a knife. Is your Hero a rogue? Mine is a warrior and sent a Superb Belt of Health (+100 health).

I understand. I would want the Hero to be a companion character that we can control. That would probably keep the out of characterness to a minimum. But I think the Keep could actually help define the character's goals and philosophies so that things stay on track during the game.

I don't even remember anymore. Maybe that was my fault and I'm thinking of the wrong import. That's a pretty decent belt though.

The Hero is not showing up because they might be dead.

Replace "The Hero" with Leliana, Alistair, Loghain, Connor, Isolde, or Nathaniel, and you will have my rebuttal.

As far as we know, the Dragon Age series is not over yet. There has been a lot going on behind the scenes regarding the Wardens and the HOF in DA2 and DA:I. I have no doubt that all will be revealed in time. Hopefully in-game and not explained away in a comic book. As far as the HOF returning, I doubt that she/he will return during Inquisition, if they lived, though I see no legitimate reason why they shouldn't.

I understand that some didn't like their Hawke cameo, but that is better than nothing. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing my Hawke back in action and hope their story continues in DA4. I am not resigned to just give up on seeing the HOF or Orleisian Warden again. Today is not tomorrow. In a few years 'technical limitations' will not be an excuse. I'm aiming at seeing the Warden return in DA4.

I'm more confident of seeing Hawke again than the HoF... but probably even a smaller part than it was here (seeing that they can die now too).

I get the feeling the next game will take place up North, so Hawke would be well placed for it.

Actually, the Hero will never show up because both Gaider and Weekes said (s)he won't.

^Gaider is gone. Weekes can and probably will change his mind.

So will the Hero if he or she returns with the cure.

I always thought they'd explore something like this before, but with the Architect choice in mind (seeing that's what helped cure Fiona).

Hell, toss in Avernus' choice too.... and the mysterious object/info that Morrigan gives at the end of Witch Hunt, and we have ourselves a lot of elements for an interesting Warden story.

But alas... it isn't happening.

It could still happen in the background, just like it did in Inquisition. Granted, it's not very exciting if the HoF just sends you a letter saying "Hey guess what, I cured the Calling: this will change the Wardens forever!" but it's better than nothing, I guess.

Though personally I liked Inquisition's approach to the HoF (NPC comments and the letter): it left space for headcanon, yet felt like she wasn't forgotten.

I killed Hawke so if he came back that would be some nifty writing or handwaving. I'd like to see the HoF again... probably my favorite character in the whole series.

Its confirmed later on in a wartable mission where you contact the Hero of Ferelden that they are off far to the west "In a land untouched by the Blight" to find a cure for the Calling. Leliana is able to contact him/her through a long, drawn out way, I didn't pay much attention to that part.

Would like to see some HoF DLC or maybe have them play a bigger part in DA4, maybe similar to Hawke in DAI, but with more control over them.

What I find interesting is that Solas is also to the land far off to the west, where the Hero of Ferelden is. That is something very interesting to think about. At the end of the game,  Morrigan and her son leave and I bet they are going to go after the Hero of Ferelden.

In my play through, the Hero of Ferelden is searching for a cure to the calling that usually ends the life of a Grey Warden.

I really hope that Bioware make DA4 story continues on with the Hero of Ferelden, the Inquistioner, and Hawke.

I imagine Solas, Morrigan, Cullen, Leliana, Cassandra, and many more will be part of the next game all depending on our choices from beginning to end.

You didn't kill Hawke, you chose to leave him/her behind in the fade. Nobody but the writers knows if Hawke survived at this point.

Weekes answered a tweet not too long ago asking if Hawke is alive and the answer was "very possible!".

Can't handwave anything that isn't actually decided.

See writers for BioWare, you missed your chance to end the "Where's the Warden" Tuesday: You should have had them at the Enclave when it blew. Then we could point at the Warden armor charred on the ground over in the corner and say "Right there".

Oh, well then, the gods have spoken. I'll just give up forever.

No. Many fans of the game want to see their Warden's story continue which is why this topic keeps coming up and will not go away and you cannot ignore the fact that should the Warden have died there is a placeholder, another character of our creation. Myself and many will continue to press the issue. I can accept the Warden Commander of Ferelden Hero or Orlesian, not returning for Inquisition but there is absolutely no legitimate reason that they should not return in future titles.

By "Many", I assume you mean a small subset of the small subset of the fanbase that is this forum?  A small but vocal contingent that repeatedly harps on this point, practicality and sense be damned?

Well, er, um, if you're Warden is dead, you can have the Orlesian Warden's corpse, or random NPC #345.

^Of course not. He has a loincloth (and a necklace that seems to be quite popular in Thedas).

@Heimdall Every single person who has existed or ever will exist wants the Hero to return. I thought I proved that already in my thread.

Y'know, I was joking when I suggested elsehwhere that the quest for the cure is a smokescreen and the Warden is in Witness Protection from the parts of the fanbase that turn into the Overly Attached Girlfriend whenever they're mentioned...

But now I'm starting to fear that I was onto something and that the obsession with the Hero of Ferelden has graduated from the Overly Attached Girlfriend to full-on Annie Wilkes territory for some people and that the HOF is currently shackled in someone's house.

BioWare should give the Warden one last hoorah, by having a silent, helmeted NPC that's either a male or female human, elf or dwarf walk by and someone says "Maker, it's the Hero of Ferelden!" and when you try to interact with the NPC, s/he just waves and keeps moving.

I personally don't mind the idea of my warden being an unseen uber-badass who is an enigmatic legend who's always just doing solo runs everywhere because they don't even need a party anymore. They're not just a person anymore, they're a walking myth of awesome. I'm okay with that.
