Hello again! I am about to re-re-re-re-re-re-re start the campaigns, and this time i want to play as a bad guy. I'd like to make a blackguard character, maybe with some Shadow Thief of Amn levels....I have all the expansions, and also kaedrin's pack.

Any good build? Or would it epicly suck?

Mmh, i found this one that doesn't look bad....Except i'd go for human instead of Yuan Ti, except it doesn't have an SToA levels..

or this one, too

Well the GT74 build is strong (as all of his builds were). With SToA you really want to be a Feinter, and the minion build isn't. If you're not Feinting then bluntly you can do better than SToA.

It depends on what you want. BG is mostly a way to unlock Epic Divine Might in those builds you've linked.

I've posted a few level 20 BG/SToAs which take 7 BG levels for the improved skeleton summon. The summon loses power in epic, but it may be helpful until then, and it may give the class some more flavour.

Well, mainly i want the StoA levels for campaign lore....To be able to do some quests/get their ewuipment you have to have at least one level in that class, right? (like NN, for example).

Only problem is that i don't know how much a thief would be useful in the campaign.......

this one seems pretty neat, though it doesn't have shadow thief levels...

And only 3 BG, which isn't exactly what I'd call "a blackguard build". But if you don't require more levels than that, yeah, it's good. I'd probably start with a higher DEX, though (maybe drop INT a bit, as you don't need things like Spot and Listen in the OC).

I played MotB as a fighter / weapon master / black guard. He was chaotic evil, and after taking all ten levels of WM I didn't want to go back to gaining plain old fighter levels, so took BG purely because it fitted his character. He had low charisma, and the summons were useless at epic levels, so the only thing he really gained was sneak attack. And the inherent coolness of being a black guard, of course. :)

Umh....and what about a blackguard-gish build? It should come out nicely, with sorc/warlock using charisma, right?

It's viable, and so it's a bard/BG. Just make sure you take eldritch knight if going sorc. 4 RDD levels or so may also help with the requirements for EDM in those cases.

this one doesn't  look bad either, even though i don't like yuan ti and it would probably be a human

EDIT:

i actually decided to try this one:

With human, though, which allows me to get spellcasting prodigy as well, and spider instead of beatle (-30hp at level 30 but meh, not much of a difference imho)

As long as you plan to stay neutral, a ranger with one or two Bard levels for social skills and access to arcane magic is very playable. I did that last month.

A ranger / rogue would also have access to conversation skills, with the option to build up the Use Magic Device skill. I recently played through the OC as a neutral ranger / rogue / shadow dancer / shadow thief. I had all manner of wands and scrolls at my disposal, not to mention almost no item equip restrictions (I was wearing arcane archer chainmail for a while).

Bards can also take Use Magic Device, but the feats and skills of rangers and rogues are better aligned. A bard however will have access to the red dragon disciple prestige class.

For ease of play, anything with Bard/Blackguard would be pretty mean. Bard has a great selection of buffing & defence spells with Inspirations on top; and that's even before we get to Curse Song, etc. Bards also get access to most necessary skills. Here's another one from the great Bard builder. Or if you want one with less buffing, this is a good example.

I would advise getting Kaedrin's pack and make a Hexblade 10/Blackguard 10/Warrior of Darkness 10.

It's what I was planning and K's pack actually improves Blackguards so you don't have to only get 3 levels, while the rest is useless.
Warrior of Darkness also fits great because then you get the Spell Resistance on top your great saves and EDM.

If you get Kaedrin's there's all sorts you can do, but personally I still wouldn't take 10 levels of BG. Hexblade qualifies you for Dragon Disciple, so I might go HB6/BG4/DD10/WoD10 and I'd bet money on mine being stronger... :P

That works as well, but a Blackguard dip is not a Blackguard build.
Blackguard is a RP class mostly.

And the improved fiendish companion is also a nice touch.

I realise that not everyone might agree with me, but I'm not keen on companions - the AI is just too dumb. I know on SP you can micro-manage them, but I'd rather not bother.

And a last question which imho is necessary:

does the bow feat unlimited ammunitions stack with elemental archers and arcane archers bonuses?

Yes. These are intrinsic to the character, so work with all ammunition. I don't recall this being bugged.
