...wasn't there some Video on YouTube about the DA:I Forums, where one Comment said something like "Lefties are an Abomination before God" or so?

Bah, Most people in this world are right handed, there's no need to conform to a small minority.
At least not when it comes to that (they aren't oppressed or anything after all) - I mean I know a lot of lefties who do things (with the exception of writing!) like a right handed person would do - including using a mouse on the PC, eating with knife and fork (the European way - not dicing and slicing everything like many Americans seem to do and then dropping the knife altogether and only using the fork) etc. etc. ![]()
Hell, I myself (I am right handed) can perform almost any task with my left hand (even more since I lost the use of my right hand for two months (!) after I dropped a bowling ball on it by accident)...well except using a mouse (well, I can but I feel uncomfortable and can't hit the front side of a damned barn (while a meter away) in games!) and writing, so it's not as big a deal as some left handed people make it out to be (the only thing I'd hate about being left handed would probably smudging my writing because of the direction (left to right) we write in...oh, that and there being almost no ergonomic mice for left handed people)
greetings LAX

Can you explain how the maps are designed for right-handed players? Not a snarky or rhetorical question, by the way - I'm right-handed myself, so I'm kinda oblivious to what it feels like to be a leftie when playing Mass Effect
I'd be interested in hearing what makes the gameplay different, aside from the camera angle.
About having left-handed characters, would this mean additional work for animators and more room for bugs to take up time? I'm not an animator, so don't really know, but if it does, I personally think there are much more meaningful things to spend time on. But I can see how it would be nice for left-handed people to see characters being left-handed too, so I understand the request, I think ![]()

If Bioware followed the same reasoning in regards with romances, all hell would break loose ![]()

you can lean out of cover and fire from either left or right without any penalty to accuracy, so I Don't know what you're talking about...

It's a right handed world and most of us lefties grow up ambidextrous except for the writing thing.
If you're teachers ever explained how to do with thing lefthanded then congratulations on your progressive school.

Triggered. Dare you to say that in one of the romance threads. How is it that bisexual people have more representation than lefties in videogames? I'm calling oppression.

I am honestly considering never saying anything in any thread about anything UNLESS it is about the oppression of lefties. If anyone calls me out for not even caring about the game or about the series as a whole beyond lefties I will not stand for that! Just because I have nothing to say anywhere except about lefties means nothing. I love this game because of its graphics and the convo wheel and stuff.
We do need posters and hashtags so it feels official.
Well we got our first hashtag covered. Good work!

You got left handed salutes and aggressive pointing. What more do you need?
Besides left handed in respect to aimed weapons doesn't have nearly any importance with respect to eye dominance.

More of the aggressive pointing is done with the right hand though.

Most of the MP maps are set up with soft cover where a right handed PC can stand behind cover and still shoot. It's called right hand advantage.

You should just be able to swap the side your screen it tiled. Of course the RIGHT way to fix it would be get rid of the OTS crap and just put the game in third person, but since they aren't going to do that there should just be a button that alternates the side the camera sits on. That way each character could use each corner.
Not to give all glory to bi-ambidextrous people, but it just what would work best. People would just have to suck it up and play since its a game.

Fixed it for you. I think we need to get in touch with Polygon about this. They could bring attention of this problem to a wider audience. I should be able to play as somebody like me in videogames, I just can't identify with right handed characters.

Is because of the camera angle? I'm just failing to understand why there is a problem for left hands... The only thing that changes is how you use your KB and mouse.

It's a MP thing. You just aren't getting it. Most of this forum wouldn't get it as its a bit beyond them. Just call us COD fans and tell us to drink mountain dew and doritos or just be like RAWR DEATH TO MP!!!1!11! and you'll fit right in.

Hmm... should I play a few rounds of Noscope Simulator?

PC means player character here. What I was talking about is how soft cover would be different if the player were left handed, and also how it's weird that there are no left handed characters. Is because of the camera angle? Mass Effect 1 had epic noscoping. Sometimes I used the sniper as a shotgun and it worked pretty well.

I'm starting to think that MEAMP needs its own board. You guys seem to have a bunch of issues that the rest of us don't have anything to do with.
Perhaps. Don't fret though my SP friend. I have grown to know and love many of you. I shall spend as much time in the SP and GD sections as the MP ones now. It will be a good time.
