See, this is what I mean when I say people haven't seen a properly played FQE. And likely never will, on platinum...
Well... then how do you make 'splosions with QFE? Show me the way pls.

She's weapons platform.
I don't see many experienced players Paladin that much. May be because they realise Snap cheese can annoy other players. And it makes them feel like noob?
At the very least, that's why I don't play Paladin much. Same reason I'm not going to pug with a Talon Merc, MQI, GI, and so on.
She's weapons platform.
I am not above being shown something I did not know before. I was told she had a flair and 'wow' factor in comparison to the paladin.
I'd be curious to see how a weapons platform(which is generally pretty standard and straightforward), can compare the the multi-cryo 'splosion, shield snap freezing of phantoms and other shield smacking, micro intesive debaucheries of the paladin.

Here are two examples how I play my FQE;
- 200% max coodown power spammer; http://kalence.drupa...13M54364!59GCC5
- what's cooldown but still a power spammer; http://kalence.drupa...13N55373!F.GAG5 (PS, use M98-Widow or Javelin for Platinum. As you can Cryo Blast to one headshot many shielded enemies on Gold with Black Widow)

Priming with IA and detonating with incinerate, usually... Alternated with the odd cryo explosion when you find an enemy in health.
However, I thought you said you never saw someone play her in a way that left you impressed by how good she can be, not that she doesn't have the playstyle you prefer. Maybe I failed to understand what you meant.
Obviously, if you like to play just to create explosions, the paladin's gonna be undoubtedly better...
Well yeah... I never said that she couldn't be effective or anything of the such, and mentioned at the beginning that I'd prefer to talk about which was more 'fun.'
I think 'fun' characters are typically characters that involve a lot of 'micro.' As in things to do with your keyboard, or semi complex actions to perform. For example, even on platinum, when I play with the paladin, I use his shield a LOT. Particularly in between cooldowns as it gives you something to do. Using it to block attacks(banshee/pratorian attacks) or using it to melee enemies. Obviously coupling this with snap freeze + one of his detonators in various places.
For example, against a phantom, Snap Freeze > ED, then cryo shield melee as the phantom is staggered, then quickly followed by incinerate(as cooldown is done), is a nifty little micro intensive set of actions you get to perform that require a small amount of timing to pull off, especially if a lot of enemies are near.
The QFE just doesn't have anything like this in her arsenal, and is a pretty standard 'shoot-n-scoot' character. There is nothing wrong with that, I'm simply saying she doesn't have anywhere near the flair the paladin can have.
I think if the ONLY thing one does is snap freeze+ED/Incinerate with the paladin, he's pretty vanilla too. But if the player is willing to full spec his shield, and take risks with it on platinum, he's one of the most exciting, risky, micro-intensive characters in the game. In that regard, it just not a fair comparison to the QFE.
For example, against a phantom, Snap Freeze > ED, then cryo shield melee
Ew. Fire shield fanboy for life!
I notice it unconsciously. I mean a Black Widow with 2 bipods? Really? Yuck
I didn't think the HVB had a bipod on it. That looks like fins to me. You know, to make it more aerodynamic and stylish. Probably designed by the same people who think that ginormous fin on their Honda Civic makes them a pro drift car driver.

Ikr... I LOVE the fire shield so much better too.
But the phantoms have forced my hand on this issue.

This looks like a bipod to me
And in any case, it's ugly.
If that's a bipod, it's the worst one ever. Way too short and no springs or adjustability for anything but a completely flat surface whatsoever. You won't be able to use it prone because it's too short, and otherwise it's not going to do any better a job than just directly resting the barrel on a railing or something.
It's more like a rifle mustache attachment. Its added manhood enables one to penetrate things.
Why are these 2 compared anyway?
Because you can't play both, you have to choose. Is this not obvious?
Why are these 2 compared anyway? Apples and oranges. Paladin begs to be played CQ. FQE not so. My paladin would bum rush phantoms to shield bash her (he gets cryo shield) , my FQE would throw a turret behind her and troll her.
Hip action.
But people have been comparing them and going "omg the FQE has no reason to exist the paladin is so much bettah"
Yep.
I agree. But people have been comparing them and going "omg the FQE has no reason to exist the paladin is so much bettah" ever since... Forever, really. I should know, I did it too, back in the days
What and who did you argue for Deerber? ![]()

It's DERPbear, so I think it's self expanatory ![]()

Not so straightforward, all her powers play an important role. I feel her powers give her good survivability and she's good in team games with her debuff, far different from what the paladin was intended to do.I am not above being shown something I did not know before. A moderate boost in weapon damage is not enough to make up for the ridiculous amounts of cheese the Paladin has. AoE, 6+6 boosted combos on all defenses, power that goes through wall, better melee, shield drain power...the Paladin is just MUCH better in terms of efficiency.
So what if the QFE can carry heavy guns? The best weapons in this game are light to moderate weight guns like wraith, arc pistol, talon and so, the paladin can produce very good weapon damage while chaining OP tech combos. It's no contest really.
I don't get this 'well-played QFE' argument. That means that good aim and consistent headshots. Now, with the same skill level, can you imagine the havoc the Paladin can cause? He will solo platinum in under 25 minutes!
Oh, and I have seen a well-played QFE so many times.
The only reason people are saying the paladin is "better" is because when you get experienced at the game the only thing that matters is damage. I remember when everyone was playing silver and the qfe was amazing because sentry turret would hold off entire flanks. "Better" is relative to what has to be done.A moderate boost in weapon damage is not enough to make up for the ridiculous amounts of cheese the Paladin has. Since damage is what matters on BSN, I made a damage-based argument.
And even for an inexperienced player, the paladin is much easier. A new player will do 'better' with a Paladin than a QFE. Stand behind a wall, spam snap freeze. Occasionally detonate or your team mates can do it for you. I do agree that 'better' is relative to what needs to be done.
Ease of play - Paladin is better
Damage - Paladin is better
Versatility - Paladin is better
Support - I'd say Paladin is better because he'll prime multiple enemies, can shield against some attacks and he can debuff too.
Melee based gameplay - Paladin is better
The paladin is quite simply better. I have nothing against QFE - I don't hate the character. QFE's powers are nice, but Paladin is OP.
Guys... forget "better." I don't think the 'better' debate is all that interesting. What about 'fun?' As platinum can be played with ANY character. Sure some are easier than others, but the character played is irrelevant once you develop game-sense and understand how to MOVE around the map.
Have any of you guys ever explored the paladin shield? And I mean REALLY spend time trying to use it WHENEVER you can? Snap Freeze +ED or Snap Freeze + incinerate is so vanilla and standard at this point. Everybody knows how it works, and ANYBODY can do it.
But have you guys really used a fully spec'd shield whenever possible? That's when the paladin really becomes 'fun.' There are so many silly things you can do with it. Compare that to the QFE, she just has nothing like it in her arsenal.
The only thing you can do with the QFE is:
shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power, shoot>fire a power.... It's pretty straightforward.
I still like and play with the QFE, as I get bored playing the same setups all the time. But really, can you guys honestly say the QFE has anything like the paladin shield?
