Hello,

I am unable to play with people outside of my region in multiplayer (Playing on PC).

I raised a thread about it months ago on the 'support' forums, but got no official response.

 

 

The problem is thus.... if I play multiplayer, I am grouped exclusively with south americans. This is a problem because often when I search for a game on a difficulty other than Routine the game places me in a server by myself. I have never been able to play MP on the highest difficulty because of this. It's also a problem on principle.

 

It goes without saying that this, if it is indeed true (no support response), is unthinkable. Mass Effect 3 has the same player-hosted formula and doesnt do this. I play every other game on the market without this virtual blockade with no issues.

NB: If anyone from South America IS able to play with people from other regions, please let me know here. I'de also like to know if people from elsewhere in the world can.

This is weird because according to EA Execs as of about 6 months ago, one of Microsoft's rules, assuming you are on Xbox One console, is that region locking is not allowed.

 

Thinking about while typing, that may be why EA chose to go with client hosting instead of server hosting with DA:I.  This way they could get region locking removed for this game

Thanks for the reply, I'm playing on PC though, so I don't think microsoft has anything to do with it - I should have mentioned that and i'll add it to the OP.

So I have just tried to play multiplayer with patch 1.09, in the hopes that the multiplayer blockade/sanctions have been lifted.

 

Whatever difficulty I search for I am placed in a server by myself.

This is just unthinkable, it is disgusting that I am being treated this way. I am sorry to get angry, but how can they pigeonhole an entire sub-continent away from the rest of the world? Why? I cannot play the game that I have payed a huge amount of money to play.

 

And I am powerless to do anything about it (other than complain about it here and on Ea's 'support'), and no one seems to care.

hey, u should check multiplayer combat strategy forum, there r several threats on this topic. patche 1.09 didnt change anything about region lock, to tell the truth i dont think they ll do anything about it in the future. my advice - if u r able to solo a round or two just create a lobby, start the game and people ll join

You need to build up a huge friend list to play the game. No 1 on PC is from Brazil, maybe you can pair up with him (he's also very active on the MP forum). I don't think BW will do anything about it, cause there is a lot of complaining about an alleged region lock and they never ever commented on it. The rumour is they can't change it because of the new engine.
