The conversation system in DAI is a lot better than that of DA2. I mean, yeah, you will eventually exhaust all conversation nodes, but that happens. But you know what would make it even better? Random comments.
Protagonist: (walks up to random follower) "How's it going?"
Follower: (assuming all conversation nodes are exhausted) "Not bad. Finally got that dent out of my armor."/"I've been better. I should never have let Janice talk me into that fifth pint."/"Never better! I got eight bulls' eyes out of eight today, a personal best."
It doesn't have to be anything long or involved, but it sure beats walking up to a follower and having to say "Nothing now," with their only response being "Okay."
