Can we please leave the original trilogy (ugh I hate that term) behind? This fresh start is nice.

Somehow the Andromeda storyline folded back into the end of the original trilogy? Like say you return to the Milky Way with advanced tech via temporal displacement or something outlandish like this.
Bioware themselves would be offended at that ![]()

OP, I think there's a pretty good chance that you won't get a lot of substantial discussion, thanks to "offended" as a word chose being a teeny bit distracting.
Maybe consider editing the title?

You mean by traveling FTL speeds and thus traveling back in time. Nah that is far too outlandish, this is Mass Effect we need space magic for that! Or what is far more likely the only way back to the Milk Way is using a special Reboot Drive.

I'd rather they just move on. Reboot, sideboot, ignore the endings, new IP, Titanfall RPG, whatever, just move on.

I always wondered about this. Isn't it a rule in physics that traveling at that speed for the distances required to reach most of the planets in the franchise result in time on the planet of origin and all gravity bound locations to advance hundreds of years while time for the traveler would be accurate relative to them? You mean by traveling FTL speeds and thus traveling back in time. Mass effect fields are supposed to bend the rules that cause this. They lower the mass of the ship so the relative speed of light is higher or something.
Generally any sci-fi that doesn't specifically deal with time-space shenanigans has a workaround for that built into how its FTL technology works.

Well the Mass Relay's just make the object traveling through them massless so that it could reach FTL without needing universe size amounts of energy to just achieve light speed.. err so when they reached their destination the clocks went back an hour for the rest of the universe...all very simple really... or you could just say it involves space magic for brevity.

Yes, I would be irreparably offended.
This ^^
They had their chance before ME3 shipped on March 6/9th in 2012. Spending 4 years trying to fix one stupid ending with multiple DLCs and now an entire new game in the series would be truly insane of Bioware.

I would prefer this be fresh start but I would also like some lore to button up the previous games.

Possibly, those who really enjoy the franchise and the end, perhaps it will have that.
