For caster classes larger enemy spawns might actually make the game easier if biotic explosions and tech combos work the same, especially if they clump together like Geth and Cerberus.

It would offer some balance that makes all classes useful: engineers, sentinels and adepts for CC, and soldiers, infiltrators and vanguards for boss killing. Or something like that. Weapons-based classes will get overwhelmed without some support from casters, likewise casters lack the raw burst DPS to effectively battle bosses.

That %4 can't be correct, can it?

Multiplayer Platinum is way tougher that single player Insanity, and %4 was roughly the Platinum extraction rate - from when they released the data in late 2013 (All the way down to Geth Plat 2.4% extraction yikes)

Well, even bronze solo or silver is more challenging than Insanity, but very likely, most folks probably don't bother selecting a difficulty beyond the default.

Let's not go crazy now. I've seen terrible SP players solo Silver in MP. Soloing Gold and Platinum is where the challenge is in this game is, but that's mainly because the game constantly throws mini boss level enemies at you at that point, so it comes off as being more cheap than challenging.

Heh, well I dunno. I've done a lot of bronze solo, and the thing that makes it more of a challenge than SP's insanity is that the enemies are always laid out in front of you in singleplayer. You rarely get flanked and you never have enemies come up from the other direction. Also, I find that certain enemies are more aggressive there, even in bronze. Banshees, for example, seem to charge a lot more and are quicker to grab you.

ME:A difficulty levels...

Casual --> Normal --> Veteran -- > Hardcore --> Insanity --> Suicide

Well, at least that is what I would make them.

Perhaps they should have sliders, so you can fine tune each difficulty to your liking.

As someone who have beaten ME2, which overall is the hardest in the trilogy, although still not challenging, on an adept being a bit of an underdog at the time, I agree.

Insanity in me3 is a joke compared to mp gold, let alone platinum.

If you really want a challenge: If you play on PS4 (maybe possible on XB1, don't know) choose "invert colors" option on accessibility, THEN play any game on insanity, see how it goes. Makes a good challenge.

Impossible difficulty, where even if you survive  grenade spamming bullet sponges you always get a failing ending.

I have to wonder what % of the playerbase even attempted Insanity and of those, how many finished it.

I still haven't completed ME3:MP on Insanity... got through to the Citadel DLC and the nice group photo and decided that, well, that was a nice point to end. No running around London looking to activate rocket launchers, no Marauder Shields, no Space Brat, no RGB ending pills... just yeah, that'll do.

I never do the first play through of any RPG on the hardest difficulty setting because I know I'm likely to screw up with bad choices first time around.

Insanity needs to be like Halo 2 legendary. In other words: balls to the wall hard
