I have only like 50 wil/cun and 20 con which I get isn't a lot for people that do, but is the class even playable on perilous?
How do you play reaver on perilous?

get more HP..a lot more HP and tons of heal on kill. Preferably the Dragon Maul.
Reaver can do great on perilous if you have the right specs.

basically any belt of health preferable the purple one which gives you +200 HP. Make sure you have at least +15% HoK between your ring and weapon. Sulivan Blade ore Greatsword/ Maul of the Dragon. ABilities which are easiest are Dragon Rage, Rampage, Devour and War Horn.you can hit zealots/ blockers with dragon rage than use war horn to make sure they scatter and don't block. or devour as devour can't be blocked.
With a BArrier class to babysit you it is absolutely no problem. If not, than just let someone else draw aggro while you attack from the flank and mop enemies up. If you are surrounded use war horn. cycle between rampage war horn and devour to manage mobs and keep your health up. Retreat if you get 2-3 archers targeting you and can't get to them quickly enough to take them down. Don't face tank a Templar shadow as you can't out dps one.

Yeah I have the maul and the sword, I prefer the sword, cause if I'm gonna lawn mower, I might as well lawn mower. With friends I can play any class at level 1 and dance in a corner and succeed. Pugging though with the Reaver on perilous seems impossible unless I happen upon a carry.
I use Dragon sword/purple ranged belt (seems to work the best at the worst times)/purple & blue hok rings and best armor. Oh and purple const amulet.
It's just that I can't really do much unless the people I'm playing with are already good, at which point the class simply isn't needed.Other than speed I guess at times..

Warhorn is all well and good but I don't use it because it makes enemies run away from you and that is the opposite of what you want. I use combat roll instead for distance closing, archer dodging, and getting up from knockdown. You want to use the maul because it makes dragon rage hit harder and you want to be using that all day everyday. I never ever use auto attack. If I need health bad I use devour with rampage and get roughly full health. As far as the belt goes there is no character I would ever use anything but a health belt on. Unless you are trying for a fire/storm dragon and can't stop dying or don't have even an enhanced one.

Yeah I don't use warhorn either, I find it counterproductive. I never auto, but I use the sword over the maul cause the aoe of the sword works with dragon rage. The only time I use auto attack is pots.
The only reason I tried using the maul was for the upgrades for hok, but that's not really helpful from what I've seen. It's the times when you don't have a chance to kill something that are the problem.
Mostly it comes in the form of archers which the belt helps with, but occasionally you just get zapped before you can react, and from what I can tell, there's nothing you can do about that.

I know they're supposed to be squishy, but there are times when I've looked down at my controller and then looked up at the screen and I was dead.

You can hit multiple enemies with a single target weapon with dragon rage. I don't use extra hok on my maul I just run 20% on my ring slots. Archers are only a problem if you aren't using cover to break los and I have crappy connection and even I can combat roll out of the way of a full draw. idk what you mean by getting zapped before you can react other than that unless you aren't using cover to your advantage

Dragon Rage aoe's with maul? I tried it and it wasn't my experience, but if it's the case I need to try it again.
What I meant by zapped was there's zero reaction time. If I'm not cowering in a corner somewhere, I'll just randomly die.

Though I admit, if I could make my mini-map full screen, I'd be amazing at this game.

Oh you mean getting surprised by reinforcement spawns. I assume in that case you mean more Fereldan Castle than anything else. At that point it's just a matter of awareness and at least making sure you turn around to get shot in the face instead of the back and then run to cover if you can't side step them or combat roll.

Not really. I mean when I play I just look at red dots on the mini map and have learned to play from that. It's a little harder to judge distance playing melee classes but it's still better than looking at the main screen :/
I find it's like WoW in the olden days, you're a much better player if you stare at your mini-map and occasionally glance at the screen than if you watch the screen and occasionally glance at your mini-map.

I promoted him and got kicked out of a group on routine at level 1 lol (before it started).
They could have made a nice friend. It's happened to me before on threatening, but never on routine lol. There's not a class in this game I couldn't solo on routine.
I was just trying to be nice :/

I feel like there is some form of 6/6/6/6 going on in this video. Were there any modded files or anything used in its creation?

The Reaver is the worst class in the game by a substantial amount in my opinion. There are exceptional players that make it work at the time but what I most often see from me and other reavers players is this:
Regular maps: Waves 1-4 awesome class that pounds the hell out of everything. Wave 5, ass kicked within seconds and face planted, repeat every 5 seconds.
On the Castle map, hide in the back room and let things come to you and abuse them, the moment you step into the open dead meat.

Reaver isn't the worst, it really depends on the gear/armor upgrades and promotions. Dragon maul with tier 3 hok upgrades and crit dmg substantially turns her into a dps monster. Probably a lot easier now to do well with her due to this but still wouldn't recommend her starting out in perilous, but she definitely isn't a garbage class.
Zero disputing she is a dps monster. no guard, no barrier generation, no aggro shedding abilities, abilities that actively suck health, 100% gear dependent. (Oh i don't have a dragon maul)
I'll stick with my thought that Reaver is the worst class in the game under normal circumstances, just my opinion of course.
Excellent class when going forward and facing enemies that come in a stream like most 1-4 waves, get out from cover and your ****** up.

Pugs die a lot, because pugs suck. Yes some classes are harder than others and squishier than others, but that doesn't stop how enormously bad players are, and how likely they are to die regardless of the innate qualities of the class.

Why not zoidberg?

There's zero need to get out of cover without barrier.
She can technically generate guard, but who needs guard when you can have 100% health gain.
Who needs to shed aggro when the enemy is dead?
All DPS characters are gear dependent. Only extreme control & barrier builds aren't.
Its actually easier now than ever both to get weapons and to upgrade current ones. The video I have above solos with worse weapons. If I can solo, other people can play around barrier.

The Reaver is very viable in perilous. You do have to be highly aware of your surroundings and what's going on (never stand still). Use devour often. Very often. A neat trick is that after you kill an enemy, you can quickly use Devour as they are dieing and still gain the effects. Use Rampage often..the Sulevein blade helps greatly with it's AOE damage and the couple of seconds of PoTA. And don't use Dragon Rage nearly as often as you would on Routine/Threatning. You must choose your targets wisely. For example, if you rush towards a group of melee's while there's 5 archers behind them, you're going to die before you even get there. They key is knowing you play 2 roles: one of support, and one of DPS. Support your mages/squishy members by taking down targets that rush them and pick off targets that can hurt your team, like a pair of archers off to the side. Deal damage in "safe" mobs and single target bosses/mini bosses. Let another party member draw aggro and then take advantage.
Overall, I think the Reaver is an exceptionally strong class that's misplayed by many. They're a great addition to a balanced party, especially if there's a good tank like a Legionnaire or a mage that can religiously support you with barriers. And War Horn sucks. Avoid it at all costs. Go for more crit-based options.

Its just really really high stats. Not really an accurate representation of normal gameplay unfortunately.
