How do you play reaver on perilous?

Some people seem to really like warhorn on reaver because of that deathblow + flow of battle synergy. I've never liked it, only thing warhorn does is make enemies run away from me, resulting in more time chasing them than actually landing critical hits. I'd just rather stack crit chance via rings or upgrades and let the enemies come at me so I can actually hit them.

And War Horn sucks. Avoid it at all costs. Go for more crit-based options.
You do realize that War Horn can guarantee auto-crits in conjunction with the Deathblow passive, right? This makes a huge difference, especially for players with low cunning who want to make use of Flow of Battle. It also allows you to spam Dragon Rage without having to worry about being blocked. And lastly it can generate support exp when your teammates kill the feared targets.
Edit: With the upgrade it also counts as a hit, which can crit and trigger Flow of Battle.

I feel like there is some form of 6/6/6/6 going on in this video. Were there any modded files or anything used in its creation?
+1
On the 6/6/6/6 thing.
Maybe not in this game, but the other....

Shes very playable IMO but where she completely sucks is xp gain. Single target plus your whole concept is burn the boss down as quickly as possible. Rock tonics are a god send for that btw but nuking the boss quickly also nukes xp. Boo.

Get someone to babysit you with barriers. Otherwise just grind a shitload of promotions. Its possible without either but it requires a lot more effort than its really worth.
That is pretty much the same advice I would give.
Besides, one could always play Katari and Avvar (as well as the Lego and the Templar) to grind some stats before trying out the Reaver - I personally find them much nicer to play anyway.

Well I ground out my 250 to get my Reaver banner on perilous. Its very playable. IMO dont touch her until >50 cunning and con. I was closer to 100/100 by the time I was done with her. 100+ con does wonders but hey thatd help any character. Dragon maul + double hok. I ran her consistently with dragon rage, rampage, devour, and combat roll. Usually i didnt even need to rampage unless surrounded or boss time. As for getting blocked devour does wonders. Combat roll is amazing. I dont need a 4th ability when I do > 3500 per DR so roll was nice to stay out of archer fire and set myself up to flank.

It would be nice to receive an experience bonus for downing a boss within a certain time limit. We shouldn't have to actively avoid downing a boss in order to maximize experience gains.

Overall, I think the Reaver is an exceptionally strong class that's misplayed by many.

The part you're right, and the part you're wrong. The great irony is that you're promoting Reaver as exceptionally strong, but misplayed as many, but you don't realize you yourself are part of that group.
Warhorn --> AoE Panic --> Support exp tagged on everything
Rampage --> Upgraded Warhorn --> 100% health as every hit counts toward Rampage
Warhorn / Deathblow / Panic / Guaranteed Crit / Flow of battle everything
See aforementioned video, I use WH a LOT.

They just flat out need to boost experience for the classes that do massive single target damage. They should have a place in the match and not be a hindrance to xp gain.

Yes I do. Problem is, while you're blowing your horn, you're highly vulnerable to ranged units. The radius is too small, and I have no desire to chase the affected enemies down. I want them to come to me. Trust me I tried after people just like you told me that was the way to go. Sulevin blade...proc the PoTA + rampage = win, and it will proc every time. You can maximize the DPS all you want on paper, but I play the game and don't like dying. Don't really care if it takes another swing or two.

Paper? I provided VIDEO of me doing it. Where's yours?
Heck here's me doing so in a team environment instead of solo:
Agreed, xp payout for reaver is paltry compared to other classes even with war horn support xp but that's the struggle of the warrior life.
Pfffft. Name the classes that get better exp. There aren't many, because most cannot do AoE support triggering like WH does. Especially in a high burst dps environment there aren't many because even barrier won't get exp if the enemy dies before hitting anyone with barrier on.

1. Hop to cover
2. Look for the nearest barrier provider (if there is a reliable one in your party)
3. Die
Reaver is my favorite warrior class and also try "ring of pain" .... alot of ppl dont use it, i dont know why for the life of me. It takes getting used to but helps you to kill things faster. If not "combat roll"(which i never use)
After all it is team play, get a buddy to run a Virt until you promote your con/cun lil more

Hi Taccodip
I got a pretty good reaver guide in my thread here
http://forum.bioware...p-build-thread/
Don't read the comments though, some of these people ought to be blocked
That being said the reaver is among the least perilous suitable classes there are, ranking imo somewhere among the alchemist and assassin.
And I love the reaver, I really do
My advice is that if you like the reaver you should just do some rampage runs on threatening with the reaver. That will save you a lot of frustration trying to find a perilous match with a half decent barrier spammer.
edit: and Ignore that part about large enemies and Dragon Rage regenerating health, I need to edit that part out

It is actually decent XP-wise. I and the teams I play with have been using that (as well as the War Horn) and we've been able to make close to 40k Team XP on regular maps.
It is not fantastic, but that is usually much more than Rampage/Dragon Rage Reaver and their teams make.

I have only like 50 wil/cun and 20 con which I get isn't a lot for people that do, but is the class even playable on perilous?
Get 100 promotions for each class and you can solo perilous with all weak classes.
DAI MP is all about promotions. Sadly no skill required. Just a HUGE amount of time. You got a life? Screw it, and play DAI MP!

Posté 05 juillet 2015 - 01:15
False. DA:MP is about gear and atm there are more shortcuts. You only go for a stupid amount of promotions (intentionally) if you're trying to accomplish something leaderboard-wise or if you want to exclusively solo MP maps. In which case you're really just playing single player DA:I except you're ignoring 95% of the content.
If that starts to happen, seek help. Shrinks for counseling, Priests for possible possession, a good outdoor view in case you think judgment day has already happened, etc.

Actually I just enjoy the gameplay and I'm too cheap to buy a new game.
All of a sudden I was climbing the leaderboards.

Terrible you say...hmmm..
15% weapon dps
1% damage bonus per 1% missing health
Devouer (one of the few attacks that can NOT be blocked in this game) and Dragon are more cost effient/effective while in ring...... (drops mic)
class dismissed
And btw, have fun!!
