Telltale did an great job with Tales of Borderlands, i gonna buy it as soon possible. :D

But yeah, if i could be in Bioware i should consider hire Telltale, to make Mass Effect game like they did with Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones or Tales Of Borderlands. His games are pure epic, and ME from them might be much better, than genesis comic.

Don't take these boards as an example of the actual player base, some of us couldn't care less about romance with a far bigger interest in general storytelling and gameplay. The average gamer cares far more about whether the game is fun rather than what voice-acted pixels they get to shag.

That said, if done as a side project, there would definitely be a market for such a thing.

I was thinking that too but Megan was his ex-girlfriend and there wasn't anything romantic between them in a game if I remember correctly. But I think their relationship had a big role in the game nevertheles.

Jensen's entire quest was (1) pinning away for Megan and (2) running to save her. Megan just obviously used him and didn't care for him.

Other games have even more involved romance (like the TW series).

Let's make it Japanese dating sims, and date 12 years old looking girls who are actually thousands of years old so people feel less guilty.

I'd be down for a Telltale/Bioware game. Not a dating sim of course, but still.

The assumption that discussing something more equates to valuing something more doesn't necessarily follow in the first place. A person could talk about haute fashion more than basic clothing, or video games more than electricity, but all that means is that there's a greater variety of things to discuss. It doesn't necessarily mean that more crucial things are trivialized, just that they're so crucial that most of the things you could say about them go without saying.

Interactive movie could work but instead of Telltale i think Dontnod can do it better, at least so far, with their Life is Strange.

Choices that matter, greyish characters, consequences etc. are simply better than The Walking Dead Season 1 at least.(Haven't played rest of their games so they might get better in "choices&consequences" but in first one nothing much altered the game and characters.)

Dating Sim well, probably there is a market for it too. Steam is filled with them >.>

Just from browsing this forum it appears that romance content is the most popular aspect of a BW game. Would they be better off just ditching combat, class builds, renegade/paragon and go with a dating sim/interactive movie?

Not sure if serious or troll.

A Telltale-style Mass Effect game could, in theory be quite good.

As long as they stay the hell away from an "artistic" outcome.

A bit of both. Consider it an experiment. I wonder if BioWare would make more money actually going this route. They have the know-how to do something like I suggested -- a Telltale games style interactive movie with dating sim elements.

Hehe well.. Let me explain.

I'd rate TWD season 1 with a well deserved 85. It was an emotional experience with lots of memorable characters, good written dialogue but... After 75% of the game my choices didn't matter at all. Trying to avoid spoilers for folk who haven't played it yet but i felt on "the rails". Not saying it is a bad  game in any way just i think it wasn't as good as Life is Strange.

Life is Strange on the other hand continues to amaze me with choices and consequences. Funny and emotional stuff here and there. Again has memorable characters. Nice twists. Also has a bit better controls me thinks. Lip sync is badly done somehow.  So far, my note is 90 because i can see that i can alter the story. Can get higher or lower depending on the outcome.

So well that's my story. I honestly think Life is Strange is a bit better than TWD and so with "shallow thinking" Dontnod would suit ME "visual novel" more than Telltale because of choices, characters, "grey" outcomes.

Not sure about other games of both developers though.(Not counting Poker Night at the Inventory :) )

My personal opinion of the TellTale games is that if you enjoy the world these games are based on there is a higher chance of liking their games.  I personally don't care for The Walking Dead so it took me two years to finish the first game because a new game would be released and I would forget all about The Walking Dead.

Having played all of Telltale's post TWD's games so far I'd say Tales from the Borderlands is actually their best effort: your choices actually affect the story, the characters are all pretty memorable, it's genuinely funny, it's handling cameos from the main games really well, the list of positives goes on. It doesn't have as much exploration as Life is Strange, it's usually shorter (about 2 hours per episode, while LiS is closer to 3 hours for me) and you have to wait an absurd amount of time between each episode (episode 1 came out in November, we're only up to episode 3) but overall I find it much more enjoyable than LiS.

So given what they managed to do with Borderlands, another sci-fi RPG/shooter franchise, I'd take Telltale over Dontnod for a Mass Effect adventure game.

its still a roleplaying game and people like to romance in RPG's.

The fps players don't care either way

The strategy players don't care

etc... etc... etc...

But, RPG players want to roleplay dating/getting it on while saving the 'verse. All in a day's work!

Tell Tales Mass Effect would be awesome.

Can't we have this as well as opposed to instead of Mass Effect Andromeda?

I'll be honest, if the new IP turns out to be a modern day life simulator that has a heavy romance bent to it, I'll pre-order that **** right now without knowing a single other thing about it.

Telltale needs to hurry up with their games. How long did it take for the last TftB episode to come out? I'm still waiting for Season 3 of the Walking Dead series.

A Telltale Mass Effect game sounds like "How to Dilute your brand 101", also their engine is just awful.

I don't want ME to go a Telltale route as much as I love Telltale, but I do want the romances to be much more interactive and personable.

This fall.  Sort of:

The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Games Mini-Series

But yeah the wait between chapters is the hard part of these episodic things.
