I am playing the Hunter but I don't have the Griffion or Hakkon bow. Can I still use your hunter build? I don't really know how to stay alive as a rogue. Do I use stealth and run away all the time?
I don't know if you are new, but if you are new, this is my experience. My comments only really apply to perilous and below.
I've played a lot of hunter recently, and my favorite build is elemental mines, stealth, full draw and leaping shot.
As a rogue, you survive best by killing things fast, and hunter isn't an exception.
Stealth is useful for dropping aggro, but you shouldn't be holding on to it for that. You should be using it just about every time it comes off cooldown for the nice DPS boost. (As I said, if you aren't new, it might not be as much a DPS boost). Couple it with full draw (if you are attacking a single big target) or leaping shot (if the enemy is close).
Mines were recently buffed, and I much prefer mines to spike trap. Mines can be thrown, so you don't have to go thrust your ass into an enemy to use it proactively. Plus it covers a larger area, allowing you to AoE small groups. They can cover doorways to slow down advancing enemies and uncover rogues.
The biggest reason I don't use spike trap, though, is the enemy seems to never live long enough to approach me. And when they do, I prefer to leaping shot away.
I can't speak to higher difficulties, but on the lower ones, things tend to die very fast, so you aren't often going to have that many enemies in your face, and when you do, you have stealth and leaping shot to move away.
This is my 2cents as a low promoted player. Hunter is really fun to play, imo, and allows for great mobility and some nice burst.
Edit: just saw Yallegro's advice. In no way and I attempting to suggest I know the game better than him, or my advice is better. Just a different perspective.
