I have no problem with how long it takes, after all, it's about the journey, not the completion.
I hope in ME:A there is no cap on weapon upgrades. Just think, with a Harrier 60 you wouldn't have ammo problems anymore.

the only true part in that is that you can salvage somethingDAI:MP is, at least when you get a crappy item you can salvage and eventually make something better so you're not stuck with it.
1000 hours to max UR's is ridicilous. Period.
Nope. It's absurd and the RNG store is terrible.

on second thought :
have you ever played DAI ???
what "better" have you ever made out of salvaged weapons?
In just over a day this thread has displayed at least ten great ideas that would have somewhat mitigated the disaster of RNG. Was the system really that lucrative? I don't know many people who spent IRL money on it.
I personally would have liked if there were more specific packs. Maybe separate packs for ammo, weapon and armor consumables. And a super expensive pack with something like a 33% chance of an UR drop.

People combined spent a crazy amount of RL money. I don't have any evidence to back that up but I mean, all that money logically would've encouraged Bioware/EA to develop all those DLC packs to in turn encourage more RL spending.
I spent ~800 hours to max mine out. If it were up to me, I'd axe the requirement to half that at most. The crazy thing is, I have seen some people with 2K+ hours under their belt without a maxed manifest....yeesh.
in me3mp you don't have to salvage because you only can get the things ONE time.Yep, I played it. You can break down all the crap gear and at the very least eventually use those materials to craft armor for new characters. Or weapon/armor upgrades. Hell, even crafting a Dragon Call. Any of those options are a bonus over being stuck with something I'll never use.

I cannot find words for how much better this is than the DAI crap where you get things you don't want over and over again, leaving the chance for the ONE thing you need ridiculously small.
not to mention that only one weapon per class is THE best and only needed one (with very few exceptions)
IMO it's the dumb grind too many developers rely on when they're not confident in their game.
Had I unlocked everything on Day 1 I would have spent just as much time enjoying and mastering those elements ![]()
The game is great! Stop dangling the carrot in front of me. It's condescending and unnecessary.
If the grind needs to stay in some form please just make it slightly more lore relevant. Harrier I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X doesn't make any sense. We've been over this.
I'm sitting on ~700 pieces of Cryo ammo and ~500 pieces of explosive ammo. I'm never going to use them and all they've done is take up space for something useful. I can't trade them, I can't sell them, and I can't turn them into something else. And even though I've hit 255 max capacity, I STILL KEEP GETTING THEM.
I'm not saying the loot system in DAI is great, but I don't see how this is better
I agree on the consumable part.
this could have been better.
but for me, consumables are not nearly as frustrating as the main gear, like in DAI

Better than DA:I MP. Good luck salvaging the wastes just to craft an Avenger.
If they were to keep the RNG store and reduce the UR drop-rate then I would like them to give you the option to wipe your manifest.
But I don't want them to reduce the drop-rate, because I actually quite like having something to still work towards after over 500 hours of MP. Besides, there are so many weapons, does it really matter all that much if you don't have every single one maxed out? As much as I would like the Saber (only gun I haven't got), it's not going to kill me to have to wait a bit longer.
I don't get people saying they wouldn't enjoy the game if there wasn't anything to unlock. It's like saying it's only fun if it's work. Isn't the game fun by itself? Especially with maxed manifest? It takes all kinds I guess.
The game is tremendous fun with a maxed manifest, since pretty much every kit becomes OP with level X URs and plentiful level III and IV equipment.
It's also clear that despite all the complaints about the grind, quite a few of us really enjoy it - possibly only in secret. The evidence is that many people start new manifests after maxing their original one. Part of the fun being that the game is quite challenging in the early stages of a new manifest with no piercing mods and severe ammo issues for some weapons.
Personally, I have 2 maxed manifests and 4 unmaxed, 2 of those latter ones at quite an early stage.
That gives me an interesting idea, what if there were more urs but each only had one level, you unlocked them and that was that.
why do you think that this is a good idea?
Actually it is the very thing I hated in DAI. you could get the bow of cruel redemption in your very first pack.
By that time you definitely would not know to appreciate it and would be able to kill every lesser/medium enemy without even knowing why.
A Harrier I (at least) has the downside of its small clip - I even would say that the difference between I and X is not big enough.
I think a lot of people spend way too long playing Bronze and Silver, which is why some maxing times are so long.
I have 140/210 UR unlocks in 550 hours, probably 200 of which were on Bronze and Silver, and only about 10-15 of which were on Platinum, with the rest (about half) on Gold. If I continue playing mostly Gold, I should be able to have my manifest maxed at about 750 hours. I think my luck has been a bit better than most people, and I do have the luxury of probably 10-15 extra URs from the weekly challenge days.
As far as how long is "too long" - I think the UR drop rate is a little too low. You should be able to max your manifest in 500 hours. That is a long time to play one game, at least from my perspective.

LOL. In 500 hours you could finish the whole ME Trilogy 5 times over and I mean not skipping anything 100% playtroughs.

Took me over 2,000 hours. I was one of the lucky few people to have some glitch with the Collector SMG that when it reached Level 3-4 it remained there and it kept other UR's from dropping at all for some reason. I spoke with alot of people that this happened to and the majority of them ended up quitting because they saw no point if they were not getting rewarded for their play. Myself, I just loved playing so much I really didnt care...but, I tried to solve the UR not dropping problem by throwing a ridiculous amount of credits at it...I spent over 30 million at 1 point...Nope...Nothing....Not 1 Single UR dropped...That was enough to push me over the limit.. I quit playing for a 6 month period. Around the time Destiny came out, I started playing again. The very 1st Premium pack I bought dropped a Collector SMG 5-6 in the same pack..that got me going again. Every thing else dropped sooo fast after that. I just wished they fixed what ever that glitch was a long time ago.
