I mean, I only play and replay Mass Effect because I'm so much better then anyone else.

 

 

I'm Commander Shepard. Don't cry for me. BioWare's fault for messing up my saga with Mass Effect 3. One can only hope I return.

You are being kind of closed minded if you think the ME universe doesn't have room for a protagonist outside of Shepard.  Shepard's story was the reaper story.   Let Shepard retire and hang out with Garrus on a beach already.  He's earned it.

Revan is a bigger deity than Shepard ever was. To the point where it takes all that game's remaining main characters and the special snowflake PC (or alternatively 16 special snowflake PCs) to finally take him down.

 

Though it's never too late to one-up I guess.

But seriously. I tried to play with female Shepard several times already, and couldn't make if very far each time. Part of the reason I started this topic. Male Commander Shepard is the only way I can play this game. I think he's one of the best protagonist in videogame history.

The dark side of the force is strong with this one.

 

Btw, i am one of the males who, too, can't really enjoy playing a female character.

I tend to identify myself with the character sooner or later.

Thats the reason i also never made it to finish the game as paragon.

But thats why shepard IS special for many people (and for others not).

 

As i wrote in the other thread, Shepard is special because everyone was able to put alot of personal emotions and characteristics into his role.

No matter if you play him like your real-life-self or roleplay different stuff

 

He/she had to do some things to keep the game going, but it was the player who made him/her  a special shepard (or not).

 

(and until the stupid ending, but well *cough* anyway)
