A new Dragon Age series from Dark Horse has been announced: Dragon Age: Magekiller. The series is written by Greg Rucka and will start on November 1.
It stars Marius, a former slave turned Boba Fett-esque "Magekiller" bounty hunter and his handler Tessa Forsythia, a Neverran noblewoman who is estranged from her family. The series will start in Minrathous, capital of Tevinter, shortly before the start of DAI. The series's first arc takes place parallel to DAI, but after the series goes into new ground.
Sounds like a cool premise. I wasn't sure what to think when I clicked the thread... I thought it was a Combat Guide.

If I had intended to make a combat guide, I would have placed this topic in the appropriate section. Sorry if the title was misleading.
I'm excited for this. Will wait as patiently as possible until November and then I will throw my money at the screen.
Oh, I like the title.
And hey, Tevinter.
"[It's a] tension that really should exist in any fantasy world where magic exists, which is" (here he raised his voice and exclaimed the next few phrases) "‘Magic exists!’ And it grossly, grossly slants the playing field! It is incredibly problematic, and it’s problematic on every level. It’s problematic on a social level, on a political level, on an economic level, on an interpersonal level, on a spiritual and religious level. If you have societies that have some people who have the ability to — literally! — alter reality, and everybody else can’t [laughs], then you have a immediate tension."
Sounds like the author of the comic has a good understanding of the subject in question.

Are Boba Fetts those hairy things from the Star Wars world?
I don't know if I should reply seriously. I like your version better.

No, seriously. Apart from the Darth Vader being Luke's father, I know very little about Star Wars lore.
This is probably a good thing.. I envy people not as geeky as me. ![]()
Boba Fett is a bounty hunter that was hired to track down Han Solo. He had a bit part, but he became really iconic. Mostly because of his armor.

Marius could be the one mentioned in the Calpernia short story... "Marius served as a guard for the house and Erasthenes’ person because there were so many ancient relics here, but his natural skill and speed far outstripped that of a simple bodyguard."

Uh ... yeah, it's the same guy. They said as much.

Sorry i didn't notice
Brilliant news! Rucka is one of my favourite comic writers, so I'm excited to see what he'll do with Dragon Age.

Rucka is a great writer so it should be good
Based on the title alone I expect it to be garbage. I'll get the sequel where chantry members are be butchered in the most violent way possible.
