This sounds very interesting, although the subtitle could use some work..

Are Boba Fetts those hairy things from the Star Wars world?
I literally thought the exact same thing up until a few weeks ago where I found out it was some bounty hunter type thing.

For the record, the tall hairy things from the Star Wars universe are Wookiees and the short hairy things are Ewoks. The specific Wookiee that hangs out with Harrison Ford is called Chewbacca, Chewie for short.
(I mean, there are a bunch of hairy critters in the SW universe, but you're probably thinking of one of those ...)

The title and the fact that he's supposed to be "Tevinter Boba Fett!" makes me think of a bad, teen-written fanfic. Another human male protagonist, meh. A slighty different rehash of Fenris' story, yeah it just doesn't seem promising to me.

Given that Greg Rucka is responsible for Queen & Country, Whiteout and most of my favourite Huntress and Renee Montoya stories, I'm not at all worried that this will lack great female characters.

Running parallel to the events of the award-winning Dragon Age: Inquisition video game from BioWare and Electronic Arts, Dragon Age: Magekiller introduces two new characters to Dragon Age lore: Tessa and Marius are mercenary partners, eliminating those who use blood magic to hurt others, but when a powerful patron employs them, they realize this next job may be their last…

Greg Rucka is one of my favourite comic book writers, so this is a definite must-read for me.

Interesting!
Leliana and Josephine also have a talk about Lady Forsythia in one of Josephine's cut scenes. She's the noblewoman who threatens to have the Inquisition flogged alive. (Apparently she has a tendency to mix metaphors when excited ...) She's also feuding with her brother.

I admit I'm a bit concerned that this book isn't being written by a writer from the dragon age staff, as being written by the actual game writers has always in my opinion been a part of why dragon age books/comicbooks have been so good and consistent with canon, I've heard the horror stories about the mass effect books.
But hopefully the writer in question will have studied the setting sufficiently and have access to the dragon age team to make sure he doesn't write anything contradicting lore.

I've read that he's a self-described "research addict" or something, and he said he found Dragon Age really impressive from a world building perspective.I admit I'm a bit concerned that this book isn't being written by a writer from the dragon age staff, as being written by the actual game writers has always in my opinion been a part of why dragon age books/comicbooks have been so good and consistent with canon, I've heard the horror stories about the mass effect books.

Yes, Rucka is very highly regarded in the industry for his attention to detail. He's also a longtime Bioware fan and a hardcore pen-and-paper gamer (over the years I've heard other writers talk about what fun they've had at games he's run and I've always been jealous).I've read that he's a self-described "research addict" or something, and he said he found Dragon Age really impressive from a world building perspective.

I totally understand wanting a Bioware writer to work on this, but comics are a very different medium than video games or even novels. I strongly suspect that Rucka is far more comfortable with Dragon Age lore than any Bioware writer is comfortable with comic books.
I'm confident the book is in good hands.

I wasn't around when the original trilogy was first released (I was for the re-release)...but people not knowing who Boba Fett is makes me feel old.

Regarding the title... Anders Greatly Disapproves.
It throws me off.
I'm not very interested, despite the Tevinter setting, but I'll still try it, maybe it will surprise me.

The writer may be good, but the concept doesn't appeal to me, so I'll pass.

Based on the title alone I expect it to be garbage. I'll get the sequel where chantry members are be butchered in the most violent way possible.

2) I believe "magekiller" refers to Marius' set of skills, not his weekend hobby. It isn't inconceivable that, in a nation ruled over by mages who are constantly battling each other for power, they would find ways of turning "mundanes" into effective assassins capable of killing their kind.
