For some reason, this reminded me of the Super Genintari, a console made by some dude in 2008 that will play Atari 2600, NES, SNES and Sega Genesis games.

Blowing cartridges then, wiping discs now. Although, you can hardly get scratches on a Blu-ray disc, which is awesome.

And I was never really a Sony Cartridge kind of guy. When Nintendo introduced the Gamestation 1, with its discs and stuff, that was my first experience. Though sometimes I wonder, what could have been, if I got a Sony SPES.

Note: in 3rd world countries like mine it has been common to use previous generation consoles, especially in the 90s.

There were some great games on it--a few of which became cult classics. Sega CD was where I first got to play Snatcher, Sonic CD, Lunar, and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. It had the best console translation of Final Fight available at the time. Plus fun little games like Popful Mail. I put Sega CD up there with the TurboDuo on my list of awesome consoles that never realized their true potential due to terrible marketing focusing on gimmicky games. It wasn't all shlock like Night Trap and Sewer Shark. >.<

 

Now that I'm feeling nostalgic, I think I'll go dig up my Neo Geo Pocket.
