So I've been romancing Sera and I had this feeling like I wasn't getting any "Sera Approves". So, I checked two wikis before sitting in judgement of The Dutchess. I chose the answer that would get an approval from her. Nothing.

I thought maybe I missed it, so I did the same thing for Ser Ruth and that evil wizard who was corrupting the Wardens who's name escapes me. Same thing. I got approvals and disapprovals from everyone the two sites said EXCEPT Sera.

MAN... I'm an ELF MAGE. It's hard enough as it is... is this a known bug? Is there a cap on approval with her? Any thoughts?

There is a cap, it's 125 (though you will never see the number). However, even if you are at max, you would still see approval messages. Are you playing on PC or Console?

I'm pretty sure there is a cap. I have noticed that after a while I stop getting approvals with my LIs because I've been maxing their approval in order to get their romance fast. Regardless, if you get her content anyway you're good to go. Do her war table missions.

I'm playing on the PS4. Is that good or bad? Haha. P

More than likely you're at max approval (as noted, the cap is currently 125, and the increments are 1, 5, and 20). You won't get feedback once a companion reaches the cap (you can still lose approval, however, unlike DA2).

If I'm maxed out.... why does she still say, "You're lovely but let me follow you around and see if I like you." Haven't even gotten her personal quest yet.

Its also based on main story progression. You get pieces of the romance after every narrative mission.

You may want to try asking in the Sera thread; I don't know the specifics of her relationship.

The only time approval feedback should stop showing up is if you've reached the cap (or if an approval gain would put you above the cap). If you're not at max approval with her, then obviously something has gone wrong (I would suggest you try to see if you can lose approval from her, and then try gaining it back with the judgment or whatever quests you're trying now).

I don't think she has a reputation bug, but then again, I don't recruit her until after Haven. Are you trying to romance her? She can only be romanced by a female of any race. If you are wondering why it isn't showing up, it is most likely an approval cap. Under some circumstances, they sometime may not show up but it is still awarded, but two in a row is unlikely. I play on PS4 as well, but I never have problems with getting her approval. She's really easy to gain approvals with, but in order to do that, you have to cringe a bit at certain choices even if it goes against every thing you agree with.

Yeah, her wiki page says "need to already be pursuing a relationship with Sera, and have relocated to Skyhold after the first series of repairs."

Pretty sure I always have been? So if I was at the cap...

So where is this Sera forum? Can't find it. Sorry I'm new.

And I always make female characters. Haha.

Oh man! It was one dialog option I thought I'd done before. I did it, talked to her again and she gave me the gift quest. It was dreamy. Thank all!

This thread could do with stickying. I was about to suggest that you need to double check that you've exhausted all the dialogue options. You're not the first to have this problem.
