Currently, when players try to use dialogue options in multiplayer ("come here," "retreat," "good job" etc.) they only go off if the characters aren't bantering. And if the characters decide to start bantering, they actually cut off whatever we were starting to say. If they are in the middle of a long banter session, or if they decide to have multiple banter sessions back to back, we never get to say what we are trying to say.
What the players are trying to say is more important than what the code is trying to say. Y'all even put in dialogue at the start of most zones encouraging us to communicate, yet we are prevented from doing so for a good proportion of match time. It can be pretty frustrating to be trying to thank somebody for helping me out but be unable to do so because our characters are talking about nug loaf again. It doesn't assist in play, it doesn't assist in building community, it doesn't assist in making us active rather than passive within the game world.
Our dialogue choices should cancel out the background banter, not the other way around.
Thanks for your work, fingers crossed that this could be implemented.
