Wow. Most of Mass Effect's DLC content is pretty top notch, but Shadow Broker singlehandedly gives DLC a good name.

Whoever thinks this is clearly occupying a different reality.

Yep, Shadow Broker was the best DLC for the trilogy, and that's from someone who dislikes Liara. I wish Liara was more like her Shadow Broker counter part in ME1 and ME3. Vasir is also my favourite villain along with Saren.

Here's another:

  • I think Bringing Down the Sky was one of the best pieces of DLC in the trilogy, along with Javik, Shadow broker, and Citadel.

Bring Down the Sky was great.

I'm hard-pressed to think of a single bad DLC release for ME other than Pinnacle Station (obviously). Some of them were a little distasteful around release ("project $10," Javik as on-disk day one DLC, etc), but content-wise, I can't think of any other franchise with offerings as consistently good.

Zaeed and Kasumi were probably my favorite companions in ME2.

Mark Meer was the better VA for Shepard.

Shepard fighging a Reaper on the ground, while cool, was stupid. He should've been dead before he had the chance to fire the first shot.

The Bebbeh Reappeh fight, I didn't mind.

Kaiden is better than Ashley.

The Mako was nice.

I like Liara's voice.

If Nihlus could replace Garrus, I wouldn't mind.

If Nihlus/Garrus/Wrex was an LI, I'd go for it, straight and everything.

I wish I didn't have to kill the Illusive Man.

I wish I didn't have to fight my clone at all.

Diana Allers wasn't horrible.

I'd play the crap out of a PVP ME came, as well as a first person shooter.

Telltale should make an ME game.

HBO should handle the Mass Effect television series.

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams.

  • Kasumi DLC was a 50/50 for me. I loved the mission, but didnt like the character.
  • From Ashes wouldve have been a great DLC pack, had it not been day one release. Content wise it had a decent amount of stuff (mission, squadmate with as much content as the vanilla ones, weapon, alt outfits for all characters, not bad for $10)
  • Citadel would've been better value at $10 (dont see it being worth the same as Citadel), but it was a good DLC
  • Pinnacle Station was garbage like you said
  • Cerberus Pack was decent, mainly only due to the weapons and Zaeed and his mission, the side missions and hammerhead stages were crap.

Yes, Vasir was a good villain and she was more or less right when she told you, that you are no different. ;)  Ok, you didn´t blew up an office building, Shepard thinks big and blows up star systems.

A perfect run through of ME2's Suicide Mission should have involved 3 or 4 squadmates dying. Suicide Missions should live up to their name.

Having said that, the SM would be better suited for the finale of ME3 than the finale of the middle chapter of the series. Giving a whole squad full of characters varying fates guarantees that there will be disappointing cameos for some of them in a sequel.

ME2/3 DLCs were better than it's main plot. But that's common opinion I guess.

GIMME THE LIKE!!!

Seriously, I didn't hate her. Sure, she had no business being there, but hey, I'm a nice guy.

I do agree that there should've been mandatory deaths.

When I play ME2, I always have at least one death. When I have 8 squadmates, usually before Horizon, I stop recruiting since that's all I need to go through the relay and it guarantees at least one death.  Of those 8, I might do 4 or 5 loyalty missions, so depending on what I decide to do, I might end up with more dead.

ME3 did have a suicide mission. The beam run. Everyone running to the beam and not making any effort to avoid the Harbinger laser

Well, if you had, it would have made those interviews a lot more interesting if she had tagged along on the Normandy instead of Allers.

A stark contrast to the puff pieces Emily Wong would have sent off if she had tagged along. But of course, they killed her off on twitter.

I'm not bitter that we got a potato-faced scan of a minor gaming personality instead of actual character continuity, though. Don't get the wrong idea.

It was also the part where I knew that Legion was going to die. Meeting with Vigil on Ilos is the second best, I loved the moment of silence and conversations.

One of my favorite moments as well.  Which is weird, because it's just one giant exposition dump.  But it's done really well, and somehow it feels earned.  Plus, dat music!

The one thing I have to say about the suicide mission is that it is not an "actual" suicide mission, it is expected to be one. No one had ever gone through the Omega relay and returned alive, so it's a perfectly reasonable assumption, but that doesn't mean a death is guaranteed. Personally, I loved the idea of being able to prepare for a mission and bring them all back alive.

As for DLC, I don't get the Lair of the Shadow Broker hype, but I never got it when it came out either. The combat was nice and Vasir was fun, but there was so much damn Liara I had to pause the game on the ship so I could ignore her for a while. Seriously, the other characters never even TALKED after she joined the party.

By having both companions and past companions play a part in it? :P

@Hazegurl: The problem is that by choosing Destroy you condemn an entire specie, Which was your ally, to extinction. You're right on Synthesis ans Refuse, but a Shepard can be against the former. Choosing Refuse While believing that if would cause the death of all those people would be...insane. Sometimes you're forced on picking the outcome that isn't as bad as the others.
Another problem is that the Paragon/Renegade think is a lot more complex then this when your start Mixing choices. A Paragon can decide to keep the CB While a Renegade to destroy it.

That's why I said Synthesis is the only true Paragon choice. No one dies or enslaved. I also enjoy mixing it up, I hate being pure Renegade.  I sometimes destroy the CB just to tick TIM off.  That's why I chose to have Destroy as an option for my Renegade/Paragon ending idea.  If you mixed it up then you lose out on Control and Synthesis and only have Destroy/Refuse.  I like being tortured btw lol! So I always enjoy a story more when the hero is faced with harder choices.

"I hate the Shadow Broker DLC".

It's the only DLC I truly didn't like.

This scene is one of my favorite ones in the entire trilogy. I just love it.

Some other stuff that I thought about:

- I really liked Kasumi's loyalty mission, it's probably my favorite one in ME2.

- I only saved Ashley once (in my second playthrough) and I still regret saving her.

- ME3 has the best DLC. All of them are great, my favorite is Leviathan (I loved the theme).

- I really hated how much Bioware shoved Liara down our throats in ME1 and ME3.

- I did not minded the baby reaper fight in ME2. Remember that they build a robot resembling the species and then put it inside the ship.

Omega is the most underrated DLC of the trilogy. I'd rank it well above Project Overlord.

- I like the ME3 endings, always go for Synthesis.

- I hate Miranda's story arc, in ME2 it was barely tolerable but in ME3 it was awful.

- Tali was very boring character in ME2. During the entire trilogy all she was speaking of was the fleet and her race... Yawn.

- Quarians > Geth

- Saren wasn't that good, Vasir was one of the best villains or maybe I should say anti-heroes in the series.

- The Reaper-destroyer fight on Rannoch defied common sense*. The boarding on the Geth dreadnought was questionable too.

- The Geth consensus mission was boring.

- Liara was confusing in ME3, it looks like BW didn't know where to put her, Mary Sue camp or to the "grey" zone. I like her as the latter.

- Cerberus always got the drop on you. Also in ME3 Cerberus sadly was reduced to generic faceless bad guys.

- IMO ME3 is the best game of the trilogy.

- ME2 felt like doing chores at some points.

- The Citadel/Presidium/Wards looked great in ME3, awful in ME2 but they were awesome in ME1.

- The Batarians had much potential, too bad we don't learn more about them except that they hate humans.

- Your defeat by Kai Leng at Thessia was one of the worst points in the trilogy.

- I like EDI and Javik in ME3. James surprisingly wasn't bad.

- ME MP was amazing idea and addition to the franchise.

- ME3 had the best DLCs (I like them all), ME2 with the exception of LOTSB (and maybe Arrival) had the worst. BDTS was good but... Pinnacle station.

- Liara is my fav char and LI.

- I hate seeing humans everywhere in the game. Humans should be tiny minority instead "we" are everything but that.

- Shiala was awesome character.

- Biotics ftw!

* I know it is sci fi and all but this was PIS like no other.

The Asari had the potential for being a really interesting race. We got glimpses of it here and there, but not enough.
