Engineer Adams is quite possibly the most annoying NPC in the entire trilogy.

I don't think your analogy is quite right. The human reaper has not murdered anyone. The Collectors have. The human reaper is merely a product of that.

As for making the human reaper more humane, I think this design should have been implemented in the game, it's truly creepy because it looks like a human baby (baby's are normally considered cute and innocent). I think this design would work well if they wanted to make the human reaper a moral dilemma.

Yeah, the analogy is probably not quite right. It was the one that would fit the most that I could think of.

Your scenario is that the cute baby Reaper told you that humanity was better off in this reaper state and that finishing it is an option.

It agrees with the actions of the Collectors and if it was sentient for some time, it´s probably aware that the humans in the pods didn´t volunteer to be liquified and pumped into his structure. Did it say "oh no don´t do this" or "give me more humans?"

And well it could simply lie to you. If it speaks the truth, it´s only an opinion. There are probably quite a few ways how humanity could develop without sacrificing their individuality or their bodies.

It doesn´t matter anyways. You can´t probably blow the base without destroying the Reaperbaby. If you leave the base intact Cerberus is nearby, they will probably grab the base and well Cerberus isn´t known for respecting non basehuman rights or human rights. If the Council or the Alliance get there first, they will kill it. It´s an AI. Even if you can simply let it live, what then? Letting it hang there for the rest of eternity or until the other Reapers show up and restart processing?

I absolutely hate the dialogue wheel and wish we could see what each option would actually say, rather than just a brief summary that hopefully conveys the tone/message.

I liked the infinite ammo/heat management in ME1 a lot better than the limited ammo of ME2/3 - the limited ammo forces me to switch around weapons to conserve ammo on things like sniper rifles/pistols, rather than being able to use what I like the most/what makes the most tactical sense.

Specialised ammunition made far more sense as items in ME1 than as character abilities in ME2/3 - especially since most characters/classes only get 0-2 different ammo types.

I can't stand Liara and the whole Asari mono gender race thing is a joke.

Shepard is the reason the Mass Effect series is good, especially renegade Shepard.

Meer is way better than Hale in every way possible and has been since ME1.  Hale was just overhyped by the very vocal minority of FShep players.

The writers had no idea what to do with the Reapers since ME1.

Speaking of ME1, it wasn't as good as ME2 & 3.

LOTSB sucked

Omega DLC was awesome

Garrus was okay but overrated

Kaidan is the one who is meant survive Virmire.  Ashley is just the illusion of choice.

IMO, this thread should be changed to unpopular opinions about the ME series. :D

Agree wholeheartedly with bolded.

With Kaidan, it just makes more sense to save an officer than a grunt. And his promotion to Major makes slightly more sense than Ashley's Ops Chief to LC in six months.

>ME3 is on par with ME1.

>ME2 is the best game of the last generation.

>Jacob is a superior character to the VS.

>I liked the Crucible idea as it represented not just the galaxy working together, but every race that ever existed aiding one another for one grand cause.

>If I were to base the ME characters off of ME1, I'd say that none of them are actually great characters.

>Virmire didn't affect me emotionally at all, except when Shepard punched Saren in the face and I laughed.

>I love how over the top ME2 was, even when it felt like a big mindless action flick at times.

>Mass Effect 2 being disconnected from the trilogy is actually one of the reasons why its the best game in the series. It's not bogged down by the Reaper plot. The Collector's are a powerful villain in their own right, but they are still fallible. Because it mostly had nothing to do with the Reapers and the inevitable doomsday it allowed for Bioware's mastery with creating characters to shine through as each mission focused on each character and their own unique dilemma. It was a big story compiled of many many many smaller stories that added depth and character to the MEverse. Without ME2 being a more personal game I would not have cared about ME3 and the Reaper invasion at all. ME2 showed me the MEverse and why its so darn awesome. If we skip from ME1 to ME3 we lose all the characters the game introduced, we lose all of their dilemmas and themes that they introduced. Because I got to know them ME3 had the emotional impact when they died. I think the trade off between plot relevance and characters was a very good deal.

That's also why I'm so excited about Andromeda. A new, fresh plot not connected to the Reapers, and Bioware's statements that it will be a more personal story.

ME2 is still my favorite of the three.

You have one lovely avatar yourself!

That goes without saying, it's an avie of the best female character of GOT/ASOIAF and a fine pick if I don't say so myself.

Here are a few more:

  • Mako was awesome
  • The side missions in ME3 were the best, due to tying into the actual plot. ME1 followed, ME2 side missions were weak
  • I liked exploring the uncharted planets in ME1
  • Tali is a mediocre and overrated character
  • Garrus wasn't a great character till ME3
  • The multiplayer is actually bloody awesome

As someone who's spent 100+ hours on it, i fully agree. It was more ambitious than the SP in numerous ways, with all the different powers/abilities and being able to play as different races(Vorcha ftw).

It's a shame that they never added the Rampart mechs and Adjutants from the Omega DLC to it tho.

Miranda's sister is more annoying imho.

That's kind of strange, because Oriana has no lines in ME2, and only a couple in ME3 that I can barely remember, especially if Miranda is alive to dominate the last scene at Sanctuary, and once she's no longer a hostage she's never seen again. Engineer Adams, however, is there to talk with his annoying voice in both ME1 and ME3.

Despite being a straight-up info-dump and a dispenser of the series' only true deus-ex-machina, the conversation with Vigil remains my favorite moment from the trilogy. Something about talking to a digital ghost from an extinct species still gets me.

Alright, I'll hand it to the clone, but overall I think this still establishes that ME3 pretty much has the monopoly on the best boss battles.

On that we can agree, although the bosses in the shadow broker dlc weren't bad, ME3's were BETTER

Khalisah Al-Jilani is the best looking human character in ME3
Jacob > Kaidan (they were both boring though)
I like the original councilors...and I can kind of understand where they were coming from (at least in ME1 and ME3)
I never cared for Garrus that much. His arc and growth pretty much started and ended in ME1
I enjoyed Omega more than Leviathan
I missed Kelly in ME3 (is that an unpopular opinion?)
I didn't mind the Mako
