Do you think the next ship our PC gets should be large, smaller, or average?  I think it would be interesting to have a small ship going in to explore Andromeda.  Maybe the size of the SR1 or just a bit smaller.

It's not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean.

It should either be a frigate or something smaller.

I want it to be a corvette sized ship. Corvettes are generally smaller than frigates.

Depends on how many people will be on the ship

Either something small like Normandy or big.

Before "thanks Captain Obvious" :

Small ship worked well so far. So no complaints or suggestions there.

But if it'll be big i want to be able to quick travel inside the ship.

Or i should be able to call companions to anywhere on ship. "Meet in my room" or "Go to briefing room" instead of walking around for minutes for a simple chat.

I like big ships and I cannot lie

you other sailors can't deny

when a ship flies in with a really fast pace

and a big hull in your face you get SPRUNG

Why would you use the tempest anyway? It's for people who can't or are just too lazy to aim. Same goes for all submachine guns though.

but it takes a long time to cross the atlantic in a row boat.

It depends on what the ship will be used for. Is it a base like Skyhold? Or is it just a place to save the game and chat with the NPC's to start up personal quests?

Unless you've got an oversized mass effect drive core attached to that bad boy.

Or you just use space magic.

If it's the the PC, a handful of squadmates and some random crew members, making the ship the size of the Normandy would make sense, no reason to change it up now.

If it's home to loads of important people, well I guess we'll be needing a larger ship.

But "Tempest" to me sounds like it's pretty much going to be Normandy sized, small and fast.

Serious Mode Activate:

It's likely a small Frigate like the Normandy SR-1, but in terms of Alliance naming schemes, the closest there is to a 'Great Historical Battle' with the name Tempest would be the Battle of Stalingrad. An operation codenamed 'Operation: Winter Storm' or Winter Tempest by the Germans was an attempt to help their troops already at the fight who were trapped there. . .note that Winter Tempest failed in the end . . .

It's a bit of a stretch, but would you want to be on a ship with the name Stalin in it?

. . .it's also the name of a British Fighter Ship, the Hawker Tempest. Used in World War II.

I don't care if it's big or small, but it better be designed better. Not like the SR-1 which wasted more than 50% of the available space with empty room like stairs, walkways etc.

There were 6(!) crew members assigned to watch the temperatures of the Stealth System, everyone in the CIC did nothing constructive (it's not like they could even see the galaxy map from their positions) and most people didn't have seats. The sleeping pods took up way more space than bunk beds for twice the number of crew would have. Worst offense: The pilot did every single job on the ship.

No, the Tempest better be well designed with an useful crew.

One of the roles of Frigates is exploration, and since exploring is the precise thing we're gonna be doing in Andromeda, my money goes to a Frigate (just like in the previous trilogy). A Cruiser or something bigger doesn't make much sense.

I'm good with getting another Normandy sized ship.

Probably smaller than the Normandy, because Bioware will inevitably treat it like it's the millennium falcon, so it's better that the vessel actually fits the role it's used for.

Having a crew around is silly when Bioware apparently has no clue what to with them, and basically ignores everyone except the pilot and maybe couple of engineers. So give us a ship that fits with a 3 man crew + 8 passengers.

I think something the size of the Normandy SR-2 would be perfect. I don't want to downgrade from size, both because it would limit the ship space for us to explore and because I don't think it would make sense logistically for something carrying a colonizing crew. I don't want anything bigger either though, or it would lose the feel of a sleek exploration ship. I think the main host of the colony's population will be on a massive (maybe citadel-ish in size) slow moving craft. This would both prevent the weirdness of taking a lot of random people along into battle, and give us a friendly hub to visit throughout the game (again like the citadel).

I'll expect it to be around the same size of the Normandy, at least that's what i'm hoping for. I don't think it'll be a massive ship, like a big cruiser thing, and I hope it won't be a tiny little thing. I literally think it'll just be a Normandy shape, same kind of lay out. Maybe with a different hull shape etc, but with the same "long main bit, with two side thrusters" design

I would like it to be more compact and smaller, maybe ditching most of the Crew that end up being faceless without actual Names, forcing those who remain to stick up much closer to each other and interact more. In my Head, I can only pull out the Firefly Example once more, as I still think that this Series might be a good Point of Orientation what to expect, given that the Music in the Teaser was a serious Hint at a more "Space Western" Feeling, which Firefly did really, really well.

I don't think it's an Alliance ship. The name seems to support that notion.

I want a large ship to be honest. Doesn't have the be star ship Enterprise size, but something close to it in size would be sweet.
