... I don't believe it matters to me what the parentage of the main character is.
No-one will be 100% happy.

Man, I really cannot wait for November/December to come when Bioware releases more detailed information about this game and finally confirm that this is a NEW protagonist that has NO relation to Shepard. Only then can we finally allow the Commander Shepard myth die out.
The myth of the Shepard will never die.
(certainly not on BSN

Sure does. Explain how the mother and her child survived the Refusal ending please? Or how a kid could have been born so it could be on board the Tempest before the Reapers arrived?
You mean like how Javik survived his cycle....?
There is nothing that cannot be explained by space magic. Liara possibly dying at the end of ME3 is a bigger issue. But then again Bioware resurrected Leliana and even made her a major character in DAI, so...
Liara is very very smart. I'm sure she could have escaped the reapers somehow and ensured the safety of her child. And if anybody knew about the ark, it's her. It could be done.
Personally, I would be THRILLED to discover that our asari squadmate is Liara's daughter from ninja-impregnating herself off Shepard when she gave Shepard her goodbye gift. (I really do think that's what happened, creepy as that may be. Liara was in love with Shepard no matter if you romanced her or not, I think. She wanted to keep a part of Shepard alive. Not just as a time capsule hologram.)
So one could see Liara's goodbye scene as making sure there is a Shepard offspring, now they only need to explain away her possible death.
Not saying this is a good scenario. It's NOT. But just for sentimental reasons I would really like to see a Shep/Liara child. I know almost nobody does. I'm not asking Bioware to do this. I'm simply saying I like the idea and don't care that others don't.

You know that this is only possible with a Romance with Thane, Jacob, Ashley, Kaiden or ser Liara?

I have 3 FemSheps, one for Kaidan, one for Garrus and one for Thane. 2 MaleSheps, one for Kaidan and one for Steve. When it comes to babies, that leaves MaleSheps out of the picture (kinda) and Thane's FemShep, as well. The last two FemSheps do live happily ever after post destroy ending with their LI's and kids in my head canon. My Sheps wouldn't touch Liara even with a ten foot pole.
Now, if BW would suddenly decide to include Liara's (or anyone else's not mentioned above) and Fem/Male Sheps child, I would be royally pissed off. It would be a slap in the face, a completely disrespectful act toward a player (me) and so bad plot choice that it's not even funny. Especially in case of Liara (or some other asari), it would mean that any/all my Sheps were mind raped by her, forced to reproduce against Sheps will. It would also destroy/spoil the new game because the player (me) would be forced to endure a character/companion which you (me) would hate, one you (me) would just like to get rid of any way you (I) can and as quickly as possible. If that happened, I'd probably never buy any BW game ever again.

So you can bring it up to ignore the hot asari?

Oh, most definitely and without any difficulty. And hot... well, I'd say that's in the eye of the beholder. ![]()

How is that different from any other character? I utterly despise Tali, Kaidan and Thane, but that doesn't really destroy the game for me.

In the next installment. I wish for bioware to have our new hero as the Son/Daughter of Commander Shep. keep the name, have a new Character. after all, all the sex had to be for something, right?? Im being serious. it will take a child of Shepard to save Andromeda
As others have said, not going to happen.
First we know our PC is human. That narrows it down to only two human parents. Ashley, Kelly, or Allers the mother. And those require certain choices during previous games and at the end. Or Kaiden, Jacob, James as the father, again requiring certain specific choices both during the games and at the end.
We also know it's separating itself from Shepards Trilogy, that alone insures there'll be no kid, but even if there was we won't have a save import...that's the ENTIRE point of going to a new galaxy.
In order for Shepard to have a child it would require an established "canon" for male/female shepards.
No we won't see Shepards child in any fashion. They can't even mention he/she has one because, again, it forces certain choices to have been made or assumed to have been made...again rendering moving to a new galaxy moot.
I'd LOVE a "sequel" to Shepards trilogy where we get to choose the mother/father of the child (and race for the ones compatible..which is only Asari or Human) tailored to our own choices....But ME:A is NOT that game, nor is that game going to happen at all.
Shepards child exists only in "headcanon" as each individual player imagines.

I think it would be cool if it this was the case but only if the child was an asari cause, they can become 1000 years old (and the only one that can mate with a human as I recall) Damn I want to make a romance with her =)

Those characters aren't products of Sheps' mind rape and they are also characters who you can choose not to enlist. Besides, I was talking about my own Sheps and how I feel about the matter. I wasn't talking for any others behalf. Everyone has the right to feel about this the way they want.

But as a NPC? Who knows. After all, Bioware included a descendant of Revan and Bastila in TOR...and I have the impression that Theron is a rather well liked character.

Every Shepard at some point in time allowed Liara to probe their mind. She could have easily snatched his DNA, and boom blue babies.
Yeah. Liara's babies, not Shepard's.
Besides, Liara would never do something like that.

Are you guys so intent on saying no that the ability to express your wishes dont exist? my question still stands and this question can be brought up to bioware. Im sure they read this stuff too.
Didn't you get the memo about BSN and the internet in general?
The mentality of the internet is - If you do not accept my worldview then you are a bad person and should be judged and publicly humiliated.

Not at all. We only know a little about ME:A through the trailer, the announcement and the leak from the survey. Coming up with a theory that goes completely against already established facts is pointless, you might as well wish for a snowstorm in Europe today. (Seriously, gimme some ice here... I'm melting)
It has absolutely nothing to do with worldviews or judging people. I do not think StarJewelian is a bad person either.
Btw... I dare you to come up with a logical explanation for a human child that works for both male and female Shep. ![]()

That's easy. No one in particular. i don't want my PC's background to be of any importance whatsoever. Just an ordinary soldier/freighter captain/whatever the plot calls for.
Just want to add to this that under no circumstances do I want THIS galaxy in peril as well, especially not in the first game. Hopefully not at all. We can do smaller scale, and it'll probably be better.

Humans and Quarians cant produce offspring, so theres no way for Shepard and Tali to have any children.
