Well, I say this post is now at an end. I have no choice but to accept that majority of people dont want shepard around. I don't think its right that everyone wants to take the easy route and quit because its too had to explain shepards story. If its what y'all want, then Bioware should definately keep doing what theyre doing. See you all around Adromeda. If anyone wants to add my gamertag for multiplayer or co op, it's StarJewelian on Microsoft Platform. Note Im in military and deploy a lot but Ill be online when I can.
if that's what you took out of it you're not paying attention (or don't want too)
it's the endings we're given that make it almost impossible for there to be Shepards kid...it has NOTHING to do with whether anyone wants Shepard gone or not.
Again if this is what you took out of the replies I suggest reading slower and thinking about what is being typed.

Would you give it a rest already? This isn't about what we want, it's about what BioWare told us they will do. They have half the game done by now, do you actually believe they'd start over just because a few people on this forum wish them to?
Easy route? What the hell are you even talking about? Continuing after ME3 is impossible! BioWare wrote themselves into a corner, the story definitely ended and no amount of plotholes and Deus ex Machinas can revive it.
Of course we want to know more about all the people in the Milky Way, we want to know what happened next... but why would we want to limit the writers and force them to go through all that mess again? There's no way it would amount to a good game and it would mean they'd either have to import ME3 savegames or establish a default canon.
More importantly, none of that is our decision. You make it sound like we decided we don't want more Shepard (we don't) when we have no influence at all.
A fresh start is needed, with as much distance to ME3 as possible. Do you want a ME:A with a child born by Shepard, when your Shepard was male? Or how about it being Ashley's kid, when she always died on Virmire? Such a game would retro-actively **** up ME1-3. And what for? Some feels? Please.
I have no doubt that the new game will have new companions to fall in love with and a decent protagonist we can customize to our liking.

The solution is simple: Shepard's progeny is always an asari, either produced from Liara or adopted with any other coupling or a single Shepard. The following rage would be glorious.

With an asari half-sister.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are the kid from this scene when they are grown up.

But that's Joker's mecha-child, born of EDI.

If that's the case, he/she can tell another story about the Shepard and add what really happened in the trilogy since the guy telling him/her says the details have changed

Maybe the Andromedagonist isn't Shepard-Shepard, but "The Shepherd", and the details that changed over time included the very galaxy within which the story took place.

The universe is big enough for there to be heroes not named Shepard. As much as I liked Shepard as a protagonist, I think its best if Bioware left him or her behind. Having Shepard or some descendant as the protagonist would just make the universe feel smaller than it should, by having one person or one family always save the day.
The other issue is that not all versions of Shepard would have children, and of those that might, they could potentially come in two different species.

I'm not exactly going to pretend that I wouldn't want to see a son or daugther of Shepard and my favorite LI being awesome in Andromeda but really, it's already implausible for there to be cameos by old characters due to us being a freaking galaxy away, never mind Shepard's child.

There is no logical way for a child of Shepard exist unless someone harvested Shepard's genetic material beforehand and plopped it on the Ark before it started its journey to Andromeda.
Shhhhhhh. Don't give them any ideas. All that stuff's on file somewhere at Cerberus, after all.

Well, you can't have babys with aliens. And we all know how much Shepard indulges in paraphilia.

Maybe a child of Shepard would be introduced in the game, but not as a playable role or not to last more than five minutes.
EDIT : And hey, just to further ****** all of you off, have the kid look just like the Catalyst.

Nah, Mass Effect should be done with Shep now. It's time to move on. I wouldn't mind seeing femsheps children in like a cutscene or something but I wouldn't want them as main characters.

It also would set a precedent for a Lineage of Awesome, or something, where there can be no protagonist to save the day if they aren't a directly related to Shepard's bloodline. Thats like taking his savior trope to a whole new level. No thanks.

Not possible.
My Shepard had a daughter with Liara. And as we all know offspring from Asari are Asari. And so that's that. Since the new character is human, that eliminates the possibility of her being related to Shepard.
