Well, if you decide on a canon, then that means gender, history, romance, decisions and endings are all included.

 

That means that Shepard is a male warhero from Earth, was in love with Liara, cured the Genophage, saved both Quarian and Geth and died for the Synthesis. That's your canon now, every other Shepard and every other ending doesn't count anymore.

 

This is what you are talking about. Careful what you wish for.

Well. Andromeda's pilots probably leave during me3, as to avoid genophage, quarian, and ending related stuff.

Shepard didn't have a kid.

Shepard also could have died many times. Or been with an alien. For example, Liara is probably considered either the most "canonical" love interest (BW pushes her a bit, and they seem to love asari)
But I didn't like her as anything Beyond a friend. So it would be upsetting if Andromeda made me play asari.

Or since some were with other non-human species, or with Mitanda who can't have kids, or with the same sex...I'm sure you see why this could get difficult.

I think it's very sweet of her to go the extra mile to make sure you can be physically happy with whoever you want. Even if she doesn't even like you.

ME3 had 4 general endings:

 

1. Destroy - all synthetic lifeforms are wiped out, Shepard may survive if you have a high EMS

2. Control - Shepard dies and a new Shepard AI takes control of the Reapers

3. Synthesis - Shepard dies and the Catalyst rapes the entire galaxy with nonsense particles

4. Refuse the previous three choices, Reapers win, every advanced species is harvested and wiped out and 50.000 years later the next cycle defeats the Reapers.

No one knows. Maybe the Yahg or whoever else became the dominant species in the Milky Way.

It's obvious, regardless of what ending we choose, Shepard will be placed upon the Golden Throne of medication and his/her genetic matarial will be used to created twenty overpowered babies. These babies will be shattered into wormholes and end up in the Andromeda Galaxy. The rudimentary forms of the DNA are then used by Liara (or any other scientist with resources)to create The Shepherds are meant to protect humanity and the other races. Half of those Shepherds turn out be complete and utter not nice people, their hobbies include mass murder and chicken slaughter. We will play as a Shepherd and try to find the twenty overpowered babies who are now adults and rule whatever world they end up on.
Now call it Mass Hammer and everybody is happy.
