I found it kinda boring that the escorts are always the most plain boring vanilla sword mooks that doesn't even have the block-fu of other mooks.

 

Would anyone like the escorts more if they...

 

a )make the Indy captain one of huge shieldmen like a gladiator? (charges right into the enemies)

b ) make the smug messenger a mage? (teleports right into the enemies)

c ) add a fourth escort in form of a docile, non-combative druffalo (that promptly get murdered by the other druffy)

d ) ....or a nug?

Instead of getting some faceless mook, we should have to escort Leliana for example. It's not like her dying has any effect on canon anyway.

edit: btw I am all for escorting druffalo, that stuff is important. I would even play as druffalo.

BioMasaka already addressed this. The mage AI would be too OP because of barriers. lol

I was trying to figure where in the game you could actually find some escorts...

One of these days the one escort will figure out that the enemy doesn't really care if they are attacking a wounded man and it is low.

 

On FC the reward for keeping that dude alive should be tripled.
