I think they should make an eastern fantasy martial arts RPG set in a dynasty named after a precious green rock.
Pokémon Emerald.
Near future post apocalyptic is one area they don't have, also I believe David Gaider was a backer for the new Shadowrun games so that would indicate interest in the genre from Mr Gaider.
Horrororororor
or
Vic Goth
or
Green fields with lots of bunnies.
No post-apocalyptic. We already have Fallout 3/NV/4, TLoU, The Division etc.
Western... nah.. Bioware can't do it better than Rockstar's RDR.
Modern? Well, considering the pandering and emphasis on inclusivity for sexualities and minorities, what better setting to use than our own modern-day setting? I just feel like Bioware proved with DA2 that they don't know how to write a compelling plot if the scope isn't on "save the world level"
Pesonally, I'd like to see them create their own Superhero IP. I LOVED Suckerpunch's InFamous franchise with just the first game in the series. The style, vibes and story in that game just felt completely right to me. By far the best one in the series, stylistically but not gameplay-wise or in terms of technical aspects.
What we haven't had though, is a Superhero IP that's like Bioware where we have interactive dialogue and opportunities for a lot of direct hero vs villain one-on-one. Create-your-hero, male or female and chosing their costume design would be glorious.
I'm kinda hoping for a dark modern urban fantasy like The secret world. Set it in a large place like NYC or LA.
I'd be up for something like that, whether urban or any other modern-day setting. I'm a fan of stories like X-Files, Twin Peaks, or Lost, where the action is set in the present day but the sci-fi and fantasy elements are taking place without the general public's knowledge and just figuring out what's happening is one of the main challenges for the protagonists.
I liked the concept for the Secret World, but I had hoped for more of an opportunity to shape my character than just "I'll do this quest over here but not that one over there," especially considering how bizarre the whole situation is. And while it's the only MMO I've tried for any length of time, I found that having hundreds of other people running around doing the same things I was doing but with little opportunity to interact with them pretty much destroyed immersion. What's the point of killing Big Scary Monster #37 only to find it having come back to life and attacking some other player half an hour later?

Personally I feel that bioware and save the world plots should go die in a hole. They always **** them up.
Anyways a Super hero game from bioware would be pretty cool.

I don't really care what setting they go for. Whatever it is, I imagine it'll be interesting enough.
I'd rather just see them handle the setting better than they have in the past. They created interesting political backdrops for both ME and DA, but kind of ruin it with all of their hippy bullshit about unity and seeing past differences. Factions and war and political intrigue are what makes sci-fi and fantasy interesting. Not getting along. At least if you want them to last long. D&D doesn't try this, and it's still here 30 years later. Mass Effect has go to a whole new galaxy now because of so many global changes. While DAI squandered the mage/templar war, and resorted to silliness with the Inquisitor's possibilties. You can be a dwarf rift closer who is worshipped as Andraste's best buddy, frees all mages, and allies with the Qun. Yay!
/rantoff Sorry about that. I guess I'll say they haven't tried urban/modern settings before. I'm curious what it'd look like from them.
Fantasy. As far as a setting goes, I think there's a lot of untapped potential for something inspired by Africa. Guild Wars Nightfall is the only game I can think of that ever made an awesome fantasy setting inspired by Africa.
I think it's too soon from ME to do space sci-fi just yet (plus SWTOR), Dragon Age has medieval European fantasy covered pretty well, and CD Projekt is doing an cyberpunk game and the comparisons would be even worse if BioWare did one too.
- Steampunk *shudders*
I could see it being this tbh. It's trendy and, of course, cosplay.
Wasn't their new IP zombie-related? Something involving a zombie or viral outbreak RPG.
I want them to make a video game adaptation of FATAL.
Cyberpunk dystopia, like Shadowrun.
No. Sci-Fi Utopia with villains around.
A RPG in Warhammer (40k) or Galactic Civilization universes.
No one made them, so I had to ask Bioware.
I'm assuming it will be Star Wars related honestly. EA has sole rights to the Star Wars video games until I think 2023. I'd guess that considering how popular Kotor was, they'd want another bioware stars wars RPG. Not just the MMO.

That might be Star Wars overload though... If such a thing is possible. I mean, SWTOR, Battlefront, that new game the Uncharted writer is working on, and another Kotor?

I'd like to see a Fantasy modern game based in Africa. Civil war, disease and arms smuggling contrasted right next to shamanistic magic, shape-sniffing and spirit warriors. Like ShadowRun: Africa.

Huh

Cyberpunk. Then we could continue the endless fighting against ... Am I too bad

Fast Jimmy must have "synesthesia".
An urban fantasy setting would be cool.

Too bad Shadow Realms was canceled.
Fast Jimmy must have "synesthesia".
The power of smell is the greatest asset any hero can have!
...of course, such a hero's kryptonite would be, clearly, bad phone Autocorrecting...

I want it to bet on all the islands of Hawai'i. The point of the game would be all the tension and drama associated with a high stakes surfing championship.
I'd play that.
