That might be Star Wars overload though... If such a thing is possible. I mean, SWTOR, Battlefront, that new game the Uncharted writer is working on, and another Kotor?
No. It won't be an overload. Do you know how many Star Wars games are made in 1997-2004 period?

Going back to Jade empire...I just don't effing get it.
They have a perfectly refreshing and unique IP based on ancient china that hardly anyone has attempted to pull off since BW did in 2003. Yet, they continue to ignore it or just string us along saying they "might" go back to it.
Yes. The game could have been better but think of the possibilities with this new tech they have? Oh my gosh, it'd be beautiful! Furthermore, they hardly even advertised that game like they should have. So for all intents and purposes, the downward spiral on that game was biowares fault.
All they need to do is a re-release to bring back hype to the game. Allow us to create our own characters instead of pre-set (unless we'd like to use the pre-set models).

I am hoping it isn't a post-apocalyptic scenario nor cyberpank. I would like it to be an urban fantasy setting. Other than that idk, it would be intetrsting to see ME/DA crossover at some point. Jade sequel is also in play here but I would prefer a new IP.

Let the hype begin now!

I never played Jade Empire, and in fact I never knew it existed until about 2011. If it goes on sale I'll check it out I guess. The hype seems to be serious based on this thread.

Espionage but it wouldn't work with Bioware's Companion/party system.
Your character would have to be a lone wolf kinda guy who gets wrapped up in some conspiracy BS who can't trust anyone in a game of betrayal, incrimination & Espionage.
That's why the current Bioware games fail to capture the trill of being a spy as in their games you always play some Super awesome leader person with a team of serial killers & everyone in said setting bows down too you.

I've heard SWTOR's imperial agent storyline handles that sort of thing well. Still haven't played it myself though.

You're in for a treat for sure when you do to it. I don't know if you play on pc or console but the pc version tends to go on sale fairly regularly between Steam and GoG.
As for me and a new setting? As much as I want more sci-fi RPGS in general, I think I'd have to say it'd be a toss up between spy stuff and pirates that I'd like to see myself.

Definitely something with superheroes. You can go crazy with the visuals and the action, and it totally fits the whole "player character is a super-special awesome individual destined to fight some big evil" thing Bioware loves. Also I like superheroes. ![]()
Otherwise a Jade Empire 2 would be rad. Giving it another try a few years ago was one of the most pleasant BioWare experiences for me since DA:O and ME. Again it goes well with an more action-y approach to gameplay, and the visuals on today's system's could be amazing!

World of Darkness RPG could be too good to believe too. An (in)direct sequel to Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
But if there'll be no blood, nudity themes or Malkavian madness forget about it.
PS: Not that i mentioned it someone will reinstall it ![]()

Altough it would be number 255 in 5 years, but a post-apocalyptic zombie game from Bioware....

I thinktic you will love it. There a reason why after 10 years that game still has a following. But bioware keeps ignoring us. ![]()

That magic/technology setting that seemed to be the central concept of Jade Empire 2.

Yes I realize it's not exactly a new IP. I don't care I want it.

You've just described what's wrong with every MMO, ever.
Doesn't EVE Online supposedly have a more responsive and frequently changing in-game universe? I've never played it, as I've also heard that it can be quite addictive while also having a brutal learning curve.
Anyway, I've never been that interested in MMOs, but I guess The Secret World's premise seemed fascinating enough to give it a try anyway. And I did get fairly far into the first mission where you investigate the town that's having a zombie outbreak, but eventually I just got bored and frustrated with it. I don't think I've played it at all since Witcher 3 came out, and I'm not feeling especially compelled to go back to it.
I do find it kind of surprising that there aren't more "skewed version of the modern world" RPGs, in any case.
