The trouble with politicians is that they care more about being liked than following through on their promises. An outsider, especially a businessman, is likely to have more conviction than a run-of-the-mill politician. That's why an outsider might be advantageous.
Advantageous to who? Clearly not anyone who wants to get anything done. Because politics is all about getting people who'd rather spit on each other than talk to each other to agree how to spend limited resources in a way that is somewhat productive and isn't political suicide for everyone involved in terms of ticking off everyone who voted for them.
Going around saying whatever thought pops in your head in whatever way you want to say it, saying "screw people's feelings" is a terrible, TERRIBLE way to lead. Business leaders get away with this because they have money... they don't have to make any agree or even like them, because they can just fire anyone who doesn't agree with them.
The person in charge of the most prosperous and influential country in the free world cannot be flippant about ticking off ally countries when we have troops committed militarily abroad, nor can we afford to antagonize those who might stand with us when we try to lead the world through tumultuous economic times. This is VASTLY more important than b!tching about brown people "invading" our country, especially when the vast majority of them are hard working people whose pay borders on slave wages, but which keeps huge segments of the service, manufacturing, construction and other industries afloat and competitive.
Being edgy as fvck is not a good quality for a president. EVER.
