And for context, the fix to hook up all the tables was only pushed to consoles. The PC push will be coming soon. Sorry for the delay -_-

Thanks. If I wasn't at work, I'd have blown through everything I had saved the last few weeks.

Well. I already did. luckily it was only 60k or so. I'm terrible at saving gold

Too damned late... Urgh. Oh well, at least I got an Audacity after stupidly salvaging it a while ago.

Also just finished a nightmare FC, no gold in chests, no loot or gold from dragon.

Thanks for the heads-up. I already spent 80k though.

Oh well, I still have 200k lying around.

Thats how Bioware handles the huge amounts of gold players has been hoarding since weeks ;)

Just "forget" to hook up the tables....

Smart move!!

I should have stopped thinking about this and just shrugged it off, since I didn't I'm really having a hard time justifying how this is in any way ok. Now, I only had a little over 90k saved, since a: I'm a fairly casual player and b: I'm terrible at saving gold, but I burned through it all since I saw a new patch released and notes that it had new stuff to buy, even seeing confirmation in the forums that people were getting this new stuff. Buying stuff is a fairly fundamental part of a game like this.

You'd think that on release of new content, it'd be fairly safe to make use of basic elements of the game, such as the shop. And if it wasn't updated, that it would either have giant warning letters all over it, or be entirely disabled. And you'd certainly not expect to have to get warned about if from a fellow player.

I've managed to stay fairly fanboy-ish through some of the major malfunctions of this MP mode, but this is, frankly, pathetic.

Things like this seem to happen almost every time a new DLC drops and it makes me sad.

I don't say that as a knock against BioWare or as a knock/I-told-you-so against players who excitedly spent their money.

I just say it in the hopes that, the next time, more folks will be cautious. I recall seeing it happen a few times in ME3MP and DAIMP has been no different. Always keep clutching your money until you see some sort of "all clear" across all platforms.

Or maybe my hoarding senses just kick in because I'm a dragon. *shrugs*

Id say it as a knock. Its embarrassing. I don't know a single game developer who is as incompetent as bioware when it comes to networking issues.

Most people don't check the forums or know that new content is always messy on release, they see a new patch with shiny content and expect it to be working.

I actually bought 5-6 chests on impulse before my senses kicked in.

Mmmm, good point. I'm mostly just always surprised to see a poor poster or two around here who blew their wad and got nothing in return because of launch difficulties.

The main problem is: that new weapons should been released several months ago.

Right now there is too much gold in the game, since players didnt spend it for months. And with the release of dragon weapons, there was almost no reason to spent it.

Luke first said to be cautious, then he said the loot-tables are live and asked for confirmation. Somebody started posting new weapons and it took Wavebend making this thread before Luke told us that the changes were only pushed on consoles. This definitely wasn't handled very well.

Oooh, missed that due to the amount of threads circulating at the moment. Yeah, that's... a pretty crappy situation, not gonna lie.

I mean Bioware definitly has a problem if everyone gets all new weapons in one day because everyone saved up his gold.

So this was probably a strategic move...

The fact that Luke, or anyone else at bioware couldn't even be bothered to check it works themselves before pushing out the patch speaks volumes. Pathetic and embarrassing if you ask me.

It pretty much sums up this game.

Bioware pushes out a patch, things break horribly, someone notices in literally 5 minutes of playing, posts on BSN, then bioware finally realises that they dun f*cked up yet again. Happened at lauch and after pretty much every DLC or patch thats come out so far.

Er, surely the live server environment and whatever they have internally are different enough that they can't just check without pushing the patch onto live?

They can't just install a consumer copy of the game and boot it up? Stop making excuses for incompetence.

Loot is random and there is no equipment progression, so odds are stacked against most players anyway.

How many people wouldnt get bored or buy platinum if they get almost everything in a day with 400-800k gold?
