I only got into Mass Effect after recognising her as Miranda on the cover. Well, I was already contemplating getting ME 2, but that sealed it.

 

This place came really close to not being blessed with my presence.

I inadvertently locked myself into a romance with Kaidan in ME1, nuking him on virmire proved easier to do than simply breaking up with him 

That's nothing.

 

In one playthrough, I was trying to romance Kaiden when I accidentally romanced Liara. It turns out, when she confronts about being romantically interested, you can respond with: Lets get together, lets be friends, or I don't want to be friends at all. I chose the "I don't want to be friends at all". At that time, it might still be that way today, that response was bugged and counted as lets get together. 30 hours into the game or at the end of the game, I discovered it was too late. I turned down sexy bed time.

 

At the second game, through Shadow Broker DLC, I turned her down again.

 

In the last game, after she confronts me about wanting to continue our romantic endeavor, I turned her down again.

 

Liara, no means no.

 

On a side note, who else finds Miranda's face (the game model) to be repulsive?

Miranda is great. Aside from the Niket-Daddy-Sister bullshit triangle, she's probably the best teammate. Warp, Overload, and dat ass.

Ashley is more interesting than most of the alien squadmates. Jack, Miranda, James and Zaeed are all great characters as well. The only interesting alien characters are Samara, Mordin, Javik and Wrex. Garrus wasnt even interesting till ME3

Having 2 bars of shields in ME1 is basically asking to be OHK'd. You either CC the hell out of *everything*, or you bump your shields high enough to withstand a couple of the high damage hits like snipers and rockets. Or, you play adept or vanguard and do both.

Or soldier, and you cheat with immunity.

You buy better armor, you get electronics as bonus power, and/or you use barrier

Yes i'm playing as an adept and when I made the video I was fairly low level (between 16-19). I think he is referring to armour and armour upgrades that can boost your shields. I also have barrier which temporary gives you a few extra bars of shield

She has really shitty health/barriers and no great CC powers. She's useful but I honestly don't think she's in the top tier of squaddies.
