Low low low low move, they decided to support last gen consoles when the game was released they should have continued that support for the life of the game, i dont know if last gen was responsible for alot of the things that was in the game (or lack of things depending on what your talking about) but what was done was done an last gen still deserved better support than this.

 

I will see the quality of the next DLC an make an opinion on whether or not last gen was responsible for alot of the things that plagued the game or not, if there aint a marked improvement in visual/aesthetic i'll be scratching my arse an wondering just exactly why

So if all DLCs are gonna be next-gen only. I hope they'll make something on a scale from 2013 pre-alpha build. Remember Crestwood and Red Templars? They had to change it because of last-gen.

Then I'm quite happy. New copies of DAI are like $30 U.S. at the moment, all in all I can live with rebuying the game, especially at that price, seeing as it's 1/13 of what the actual system is going to cost.

 

Still sucks overall, but again, not the end of the world.

 

Yeah, I actually already bought a PS4 copy of the main game when the PS store was having a sale a while back (figured I should just go ahead and snag it), so I'm good to go where that's concerned.  Just need to get the PS4.

Knowing this, I would have vastly preferred Inquisition being next-gen only. My problem here was the sudden decision to stop supporting last gen players after a full game and 2 DLCs.

As a person with a PS4 and realizing that this will mean that the next DLC is (Probably) gonna be something that last gen just can't handle

I'm sorry for the Xbox360/PS3 players. What the hell is going on in BioWare? A couple of hourse ago CDPR released the notes for the upcoming patch, in which they included some of the most asked features (storage chest and better inventory), and then BioWare comes out with this... Like when they announced that amount of crap called Spoils of the Avvar while CDRP was releasing two new free DLCs.
I don't want to start another BioWare vs CDPR war, I just want to state that they are not very lucky with their sense of timing.

As a PC player with a relatively high-end PC, my personal reaction is mostly just aww yisss. But objectively, this is kinda abrupt and unfair to last-gen players...

I've asked Miked Laidlaw recently why they didn't brought companions to the main hall during the judgement quests. I've always been curious about their opinion/advice. He answered that last-gen's memory would blow up. Another reason to leave last-gen behind. It's cruel and painful, but necessary.

That's the problem. DAI should have been current-gen only. Period. It's just not fair to go all: "Yeah, we released the game on your platform of choice and you bought the game, maybe even the super-expensive Collector's Edition, but oh well, all future DLCs will be current-gen only!"

I mean, this decision doesn't affect me, because I own the game for the PS4, but I sympathize with all the XBOX 360 and PS3 players.

I agree it should've been, I believe DAI's development did suffer from being stretch too thin with the platforms

It's almost as if BioWare hasn't released plenty of free content for their game already, more than all of Witcher 3's DLCs combined before that game's blatant-pandering DLCs were announced.

 

Oh wait, BioWare didn't pull their pants down and wait for easily-pandered-to idiots to crawl along and kiss their butts over half-assed content packs like "one outfit" or "a reskinned deck of cards".

I sympathise with anyone who can't upgrade, especially people who are supporting families in difficult times for example, but ultimately the last gen consoles can't handle the content they want to produce - DAI sorely misses some of the stuff that was cut in order to get the game working on 360 and PS3.

 

It's harsh, but what are their other options?

 

1) Continue to make 'lightweight' content and get slaughtered on the forums and elsewhere.

2) Stop making content.

 

This is an EA company choosing to make 'better' content for a smaller market too...
