I'd like to see the 20% CD reduction amulet as a potential heartbreaker reward :]

 

Otherwise people won't really have a reason to play it other than e-peen.

What you saying is that difficulty is not for me because it is too difficult for me.  :lol:  But. I don't particularly care about loot or glory badge. My point is that somebody at Bioware spent a crap load of time thinking about this HB mode, designing it, cleaning bugs out of it, polishing and testing it. And it is good, it has great potential. And then, nobody actually plays it? That would be absurd IMO. There might be multiple ways for it to be accessible without nerfing the nightmare version. It can have perilous and threatening version scaled down with bronze, silver, and gold badges for whoever likes shiny things. It can have other enemy abilities/features apart from just stunlocking players for 3 minutes like sync kills, dots requiring some action to break it, or new objectives.

Well since the developers are working on HB versions of demon and red Templar factions, I hope they take suggestions seriously. However all the complaints of the stun locks seems excessive to me. It is what it is and I am pleased to see AI improvements and tactics from the enemies in NM and HB mode. Fun to see all the venatori shield bearers turtle spell casters and minefields lighting up like glittering floor.

Never have developed the necessary skill set to survive very long on the hardest settings. I would keep trying, but it often seems as if you're just a burden on those who prefer those levels?

ok, so long story short i;ve been pugging FC castle for a hew hours now. i have zero clears to show for it. its not like i have been playing with total scrubs either i have been matched up with a few names i recognize from the leaderboards. whats the deal with this difficulty? who was this meant for? the 60 guys above me in the ranks? i'm not saying perilous was super easy but the jump from that to this seems insane. 
 
now that i got that off my chest, does anyone have some strats for this mode? maybe a certain team comp? i'd like to hear how some of you guys are feeling this mode. (and clearing it  :unsure: )

Now that we've had the NM mode for few days, I think aside from the Hakkon Weapon drops, we can certainly begin to see the OP title NM Farming become a staple. The following has been the modus operandi these few days, assuming all have level 1 chr

1. Go to Perilous old map with level 1 characters, do two runs, level 9 then level 12, each run takes about 10 to 12 mins
2. Go to NM FC first run brings you from 12 to 16/17 - Hope for weapons
3. Go to NM FC second run brings you to 20, promote - Hope for weapons
4. Rinse and repeat

Now the NM FC castle run without Spawn blocking is about 30 to 40 min with efficient crew. 2xReaver, Elementalist/Keeper, Archer/Dualist

For pure farming using the old maps for NM can yield faster runs with less exp. Need to check if we will add another run.

As far as I know nothing was touched with XP amounts for the older difficulties.

 

It feels like Perilous was nerfed, I took arrows from archers like they were nothing. Could be wrong.

armor buff makes a big difference now

Exp hasn't changed, but all of our characters are stronger with the armor buff so Perilous will be easier.

Aside from getting plain nothing drop wise from this NM dragons in general this difficulty in my opinion throw current balance out of the window.
From what I've seen at those few short "fade" walks health of enemies, basic ones is very high. Stupid wraith got 4,4k, many got 12k+ and armor 80-100.
In general they aren't that much harder, spawn composition is changed, still there is just a lot of everything, including those big units.
All this just in my opinion made many kits just plain...useless there.
Like archer. New bows maybe give him enough damage for perilous, but clearly not for x3 health pool on nightmare. Time to kill alone, single units is like ages.
Duelist the same problem. Damage was enough of perilous, where good broadside, ambush and even flashing steel could kill something fast, now you need all 4 to kill anything really.

It opened a "spot" for assassin in theory, her damage was an overkill most of the time but still problem is with amount of enemies. How we can call priority target when we at the same time has 5 spawned of them.

Maybe it would change as ppl learn more, but for now this difficulty is limiting viability of kits. It's not that I'm opposed to this NM difficulty. Health pools of enemies, amount of them forces players to use best what they have. Hipster build won't work here. You need defense, CC, highest damage possible (in that order pretty much). You need to use combos, LoS and use tactics because without it you either fail or it would take ages.
But on the other side I want every kit to be viable and for now in my opinion it's not true.

I find the archer very viable especially with the Heartstring bow, it provide a very high DPS chr for the team, often the longshots/leaping shots can just be spammed damaging a lot of enemies for another member of the team to take out. I have played about half of my NM runs with the archer.

In my humble, non-promoted, scrubby, non-farming, no-Hakkon-weapon, biased, casual opinion you have not played Heartbreaker on a non-Dragon map. You should try it.  Once you've beaten it, you can tell how you fell. /AngryElcor mode off.

 

Seriously, why do (some of the) leaderboard people think that everyone else are idiots? At least Medallian is good-natured and complains only about local trolls. :lol:

This is bad because it is funny otherwise and has a completely different feel to it. I'd say, it is somewhat better than the original normal game for me.

So in your opinion only the zone 5 matters? I have played with non-hakkon weapons FC in HB, therefore only if I do the old maps then I will know what I am talking about? seems to be a real stretch here.

Well, 50% of the population are below average intelligence.  Between you and me, if you are not the idiot, then I... well, you must to be the idiot then  :lol:
