You can continue to play everything you've paid for, you just won't be offered new stuff.

No one is shafting anyone.  It's just end of the line.  Can't sink (dev) money into an orphaned platform.

Psst, Microsoft is still supporting the 360 until next year.  It hasn't been "abandoned" yet.

Neither is the PS3.

Yes, I would say that.  In fact, that's almost exactly  what I'm saying.  They were not "part of the game" when I bought it, and I sure got my money's worth out of the base game.  Both Arrival and Citadel were excellent additions to the ME story, and I had a great time playing them.  But would I have felt cheated if they had never been produced, or if they had been released ONLY for consoles?  No.  Would I have felt disappointed?  Sure.  But not cheated.

Mmm.. are you sure that a piece of story that shows you how Liara became TSB or why your protagonist was under a trial at the beginning of ME3 can be considered  a simple "addition"? In my opinion they are an integral part of the story and all of them  were cut from the main game, or at least, put aside for later therefore they should be available for all the people who bought the main game. I don't know if someone remember when they announced that Lair of The Shadowbroker wasn't going to be released in Central and Eastern Europe because of  "technical issues". I was here at that time, and I still remember the whole community sympathizing with people from those countries. I don't see why it should be different this time and why someone should be happy to have something that someone cannot have when we are all regular customers and when we should have all the same treatment. And at this point.. who will be screwed next time? PS4 players? PC players? [insert random world region] players?  This whole thing is just setting a disturbing precedent which makes me wonder if I really want to support this business anymore, or if it's about time to find a new hobby.

And I wouldn't have turned into a whinging internet brat, demanding that BioWare cater to me just because... "I want more, so they have to  provide it."

I don't think they were the ones who asked to be left with an unfinished story and a big cliffhanger just to be able to not play the end, unless they wanted to rebuy the game.

DLC are like an encore performance and the old gen guys are pretty much being ushered out of the theater before the show is really over.

The option to buy and continue the story of the game is part and parcel of gaming these days. has been for while really, even way back with Wing Commander mission packs. these things are all planned out in advance and developed later.

I wish you old gen guys luck, I really do. in your shoes I'd probably want some kind of upgrade deal so you can trade in your old game and get the upgraded version when your are able to play the finished game

A too bad, so sad response is not acceptable. if that's what you get, never forgive, never forget. There are game companies that actually value customers and don't take them for granted.

I didn't say I didn't sympathize.  Last-gen console players do have my sympathy, (for lots of reasons.)

I simply don't buy the "We've been screwed!  BioWare owes  us... more!" attitude being expressed by some of them.

No, you're not, and no they don't.  You're simply not being supported any longer.

Pfft, BioWare/EA really screwed over the PS3/360 Deluxe Edition buyers, they've reported the inablity to transfere their extra content (Red Hart etc.) they paid extra for at launch. It's absolutely ridiculous that they were basically cheated out of what they've paid extra for, if the didn't happen to buy another Deluxe Edition for the PS4/ONE.

And I don't think BioWare/EA happened to mention that little tidbit to them.

And it's not catering. It's wanting EQUAL treatment. <_<

And again, missing the point.  No one has been deprived of ANYTHING they've paid for because of this announcement, or the policy change it contained.

Not one single person.  Everything already purchased plays just fine ON THE PLATFORM FOR WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED.

Beyond that... BioWare are making it possible to transfer certain elements from one platform to another.  They've never done that before.  The closest they'd come was being able to create world-states in the Keep and export them to any platform.

So one could say that last-gen players are now getting SPECIAL treatment.  PC players can't move their  saves onto the PS4, but you don't hear them complaining.

Pssst... Microsoft is still selling  the XBox 360.  They have a completely different model than a software-only publisher.

Actually aside from this issue the game apparently doesn't play fine for a lot of old gen users. There have been numerous complaints since release about it.

Even on the issue at hand they've been deprived of the ability to continue or even finish the story of the inquisitor and the inquisition depending on what happens in DLC or play through major events in the dragon age universe without buying another copy and another system. They need to pay another, what, $300 to $400 to continue.

How are they NOT being deprieved of extra content they specifically paid for AT launch? The Deluxe Edition was listed for around $69-70+ at launch, compared to the base edition which was the typical $60+ BioWare offered two separate edition. People bought the Deluxe Edition SPECIFICALLY for the extra content (that came with the base game) within their base game, yet they are now (reportedly) unable to access it. How is that not on BioWare/EA? Cheating people out of their money because they happened to buy a non Deluxe Edition when they upgraded, WITHOUT telling them they should do so.

BioWare is responsible for BOTH versions of their game, not just one.

It's not special treatment, as it does old genners absolutely no good what so ever if they cannot/will not upgrade. Some of them simply can't, some can't see the justification in repurchasing a game twice.

PS3 can't move to Xbox ONe, 360 can't move to PS4 in that same regard, I don't see your point. Some people have bought DA:I for their PS3 and happened to upgrade to a Xbox ONE, and vice versa. What if a last gen player wants to move to a PC? They can't do that either. It's not limited to PC.

$400+ I believe. In my area at least new consoles run for about $399, so $400 including taxes and another $30-60+ for a new game, depending on the store. I've seen some games Deluxe Edition in particular run for $90+ which is ridiculous.

@Thandal - If we were only entitled to the technical support please tell me where that can be found. As you can see from the thread below, still going by the way, they didn't offer really anything specific to our needs and left us out not only to dry but to be constantly insulted by the people whom now call us entitled brats and probably wish to consign us to the 'workhouse'.

http://forum.bioware...issues/page-113

And please, stop defending the indefensible trying to offer excuses over excuses. It was their decision to develop the game over 5 different platforms not ours. We were actually all convinced that it would have been a next gen only game and some of us were prepared to wait until we would have been able to upgrade. Instead they took our money (£54 in my case 'cause I'm an idiot and preordered the deluxe edition) and now they are running with the middle finger up.

As an Xbox 360 owner I believe I have all the reasons in the world to feel cheated by this company. And to specify, I'm not some whining kid. I'm a 52 years old that happened to have chosen a vocational profession not some high paid job, so don't even try patronize me as I won't have it. Shady practice is shady practice whichever the field!

What really gnarls my 'nads is that Bioware, EA, Microsoft and Sony get to double dip on profit with a double purchase for those last-gen players who want to  purchase the remaining DLC.  The dead silence of Bioware concerning this fiasco is also infuriating, and shows disdain for their customers.

I am baffled that some believe that not wanting to purchase the same game twice constitutes entitlement.
