This is a video game. It's not the entrance exam for the Navy SEALs.

Tutorials exist for a reason. Easing the player into the mechanics exists for a reason.

It's a hardcore video game. Most gamers like a challenge. If you play casually, there's all those apps on your phone and on facebook.

Now... I cannot stand dying every few minutes in Dark Souls. But I played it. I kept trying.  Each milestone felt like victory... an achievement fought for.

LOL. Navy Seals? Thanks, I feel really good about my post now. ;) <blush>

This 'hardcore video game' is a mass produced product specifically designed to be beatable with a reasonable minimum of frustration by players as young as 12 or so and of not only average, but considerably below average intelligence and skill,

Anything, just not similar to DA:I.

Going from prisoner waiting execution to group's leader in a few minutes made no sense.

After taking a weapon from ground having "useless" choices such as keep/drop/explain to your captor made no sense. In the end even if you wanted to drop it you couldn't because your captor didn't allow you to do so. So why did we have choice again?

Asking prisoner's opinion which way to take made no sense. Even its explanation, "We can't decide on our own, you have any suggestions?" made no sense. I expected a twist there, "Mountain way, huh? Then we'll go other way you murderer!" kinda, my bad for keeping my hopes up -.-

Should be either something story based or short. I need to choose/alter my background or story with "meaningful" choices like in DA:O with all its problems or keep them short like in ME 1 or 2.

Eh... In short nothing nonsense.

Well. You just called ME players below average intelligence and skill. Hope no-one gets offended and all.

Seriously, this thread  was about peoples personal wishes and debating or disagreeing with anyone's preferences is plain stupid. My opinion does not have to equal your opinion.

So... sorry. I won't argue this point because its silly to do so.

Post what your vision is and let others post their vision and let them be.

Let it go... let it go... blah blah blah

I'm telling you how this process works. I understand that the industry is rich with implications that you, the player, are smarter and faster and more badass for beating such-and-such game and so forth. But it's just an illusion they use to sell their product and a fantasy egged on by publications. These are products built to be easy. If they weren't, they'd be throwing away huge portions of their customer base, and they likely wouldn't be particularly fun.

It would be nice if there's Nihlus/Duncan in the prologue. Toss in a Jenkins/Jory too.

Bonus points if there's a chance they could saved.

Because he or she spoke of the game as if it should be a strenuous and unforgiving test for the player to prove their worthiness, instead of the less exciting but necessary reality.

Why shouldn't it be a strenuous and unforgiving test? Make's the game challenging.

As far as training to be a Seal, its very brutal.

First of all, because if the game was legitimately difficult, BioWare would lose a huge portion of the customer base due to frustration over not being able to play the game.

Secondly, because video games are generally not designed to be challenging. They're designed to be fun. Being legitimately challenged is generally not as fun as people expect.

What's a huge portion? How hard would it be to change the difficulty to narrative mode? Last I checked, I go into options and highlight whatever difficulty I want

So being challenging and fun at the same time can't happen? Interesting. Most of my DAI playthroughs have been on nightmare mode. I found it both fun and challenging. The same with playing ME on insanity

I want the new setting to be like Firefly really bad. But I want the opening screen to be the character creation screen. Then we hit the introduction. I don't want to pause in the middle of it. I want to create my character and have total immersion from then on.

Nah I think he's way of especially with starting on earth plus why does everyone think it's only humans who funded the expedition in my opinion that's very shallow and silly but that's just my opinion.

The trip to Andromeda was just a dream and you wake up as a space pirate before the Reaper threat in the roaring 2120's.

I'm pretty greedy. I also want the middle of a game and an end. Given ME3, especially an end.

CC first and then an autosave immediately after in the event of a crash. I do not want a long-drawn out prologue that I'll have to skip through and eventually be frustrated with because I keep having to restart to tweak my character. I especially do not want a prologue before CC. The ME prologue was just fine and short enough to not irritate me. The ME3 prologue was obnoxiously long with no ability to skip through most parts.
