Thank you for the review! And as this is the first video of yours I have seen - it was also nice to put a voice to the written words I usually see. Thanks again.

And I do not usually do this, because I try to avoid being negative as much as I can, but at this point, I simply cannot hold back anymore. I apologize. But I must.

This will not do.

This will not do at all.

It is just...just...

I'm disappointed that this is the kind of DLC that they are putting their efforts into.  I'm glad that they finally gave us Qunari specific armor types, though.  We have been asking for this for months now.  And I bought it because I want to outfit my male Qunquisitor in chest baring heavy armor and I like the idea of him and Dorian rolling around in a bed surrounded by gold naked male qunari statues (it's like Liberace style gay), but it's sad that this is the focus now.  Again, we're eight months post-release.  Let's compare this to DA: O (both were released in November, so we'll just look at what was released by July in both cases):

DA: O

  • Stone Prisoner (Story-based DLC with DLC full-game companion)
  • Warden's Keep (Story-based DLC)
  • Blood Dragon Armor (Item DLC)
  • Return to Ostagar (Story-based DLC)
  • Feastday (Item DLC)
  • Darkspawn Chronicles (Story-based DLC)
  • Leliana's Song (Story-based DLC)
  • DA: A (Full Expansion)

DA: I

  • Jaws of Hakkon (Story-based DLC)
  • Dragonslayer (MP DLC)
  • Spoils of the Avaar (Item DLC)
  • Spoils of the Qunari (Item DLC)

I'm not really happy with this.

this. THIS. THIS THING.

I need to go do and think something else for a bit.

Oh god, I took the annotations off despite you telling me not to and it was horrible.

When's the dlc out?

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

Ya' know, I'm assuming a lot of people are going to make fun of the man nipple armor. There will probably be 'eye bleach' comments and the general feeling that the men look stupid and ridiculous in that armor. And, I can't help but grin and, say, yep, this is what woman have been saying for years when were treated like this! It's almost like Bioware has seen the websites where men are put in armor traditionally reserved for video game and comic book women and decided to actually do it! Shoe on other foot, I have to lol! Big thumbs up! Take my money Bioware!

YAAAAS. 100% agree with this!

1400.gif

BioWare, why are you doing this to your fans?

I'm guessing it was largely EA's influence? Either way Spoils of The Qunari was likely developed along side Spoils of The Avvar. SOTA didn't take as long being that all the armors pre-exsisted in the game. So they've likely heard the feedback about the item packs, but released spoils of the Qunari anyway sense it was almost done.

The armour, the way I see it is, they already had the model from DA:2. Looking at it, it looks like they just ripped the body model from the Qunari from DA:2 and sold it to us for $5 as an armour, which I doubt would be very hard to implement.

I dunno, it's a different engine. They may of had to rebuild it from scratch. That said, having the same team the built it in DA2 build it in DAI probably doesn't take very long.

I'm sorry to do this but after seeing that armor on some of the characters, one can only ask, WHY?

This is what EA thinks sells? It's like they've never played videogames.

Seriously though... My inquisitor is NOT going into battle wearing some sort of belly-dancer outfit!

Nice review, BioFan! I'm guessing since this pack never appeared for the PSN or for PC, and that it wasn't announced on the blog or on social media, that its release was simply a mistake. Is it at all likely that it was supposed to drop with a related DLC? Perhaps we'll hear something about it via SDCC?

*Thanks for the review of the new DLC, BioFan.*

I'm seriously questioning Bioware at this point. DLC for this game seems so...out of touch? Not just what is being released, but when and howI have no problem supporting game companies I like by throwing some money at DLCs, in my favorite online game Vindictus I have wasted wayyy too much money on optional appearance customizations. However, Bioware's DLC release schedule fails to "strike while the iron's hot" or acknowledge what most people seem to want.

1) Why are they now releasing item packs 7-8 months after release? Most people have played through the game and moved on! Appearance packs should be out by 2-3 months tops, to capitalize on players who got a late start on the game or want new stuff for a second (or third) playthrough.

2) Why space the item pack DLCs so far apart, just throw them all up on Origins and let us pick from an assortment? ( Perhaps offer a discount if buying multiple packs.)

3) Why have they not released a hairstyle DLC, which from my time lurking on the forums seems like it would sell like hotcakes?

4) By this stage in the DLC release period (6-12 months) Bioware should be releasing story DLC. I feel they are not going to be making their efforts worthwhile financially because many players will have uninstalled, sold their games, moved on to other games, etc. This leads to EA saying DLC for Dragon Age isn't profitable enough, and I worry they will lose future opportunities to make big story DLCs.

Also the fact that DLC being released seems like some shameful secret and I have to actively remember to check the forums for DLC releases is utterly baffling. The multiplayer team of Dragon Age always seems to be promoting something I don't care about, but I give them props that I always know there is some event going on that I could join in if I wanted to actually interact with other human beings.

TL;DR: The longer they wait to release DLC, they less money will be in their pockets. People want a reason to boot up the game and replay, not just a couple new armors and a " better luck next month." I will keep buying story DLCs, and item pack DLCs (if they happen to have some sweet armor designs), but whoever is in charge of planning DLC schedules and marketing them really seems to be making some unusual (unprofitabledecisions.

So what's next on DAI DLC's world......Inquisition's Socks Collection DLC? Seriously? After 8 months, this is the best you can come up with to fill the Inquisition's empty, dull, lifeless semi open world? A cheap, buggy, glitchy copy of DA2 Arishok's armor? To me, this is Bioware showing clear signs they totally gave up on this game and EA trying to milk few dollars here and there. I can't believe this is the same people who created DAO or even DA2, with all its shortcomings.

So, you wanted an inquisitor with long hair? No problem, Bioware gave you the option to roleplay with no one but two Qunari statues.

Oh, plus now they are also expecting me to update my single player game with an almost 3GB patch with mostly multiplayer fixes.

You guys are doing greeaaat.

I agree, all of their post-inquisition releases have been rather odd.

I'm unlikely to go for the Qunari DLC. For one, the armor looked horrid. Secondly, I've no Qunari PC I want to dress up. :D

Oh man....this here is going to be my kryptonite.....Qunari-type armors and outfits!    I must say, I rather like the appearance of them (as opposed to the hilariously pathetic Avaar DLC pack)  But really?  Does it have to be five dollars?  When this should have been in the main game to begin with?  When there's already a pitiful lack of outfits already?

Ugh...and it's not even out on PC yet.  Well, at least I won't be tempted.

Maybe it's timed exclusive again, but they don't want to officially say it, instead just do it and be quiet about it. Considering DLC for last gen is now done but support continues on the title, they obviously have few qualms about upsetting their base.

OR

The release was so buggy they halted it at the last moment for other platforms to fix it.

*shrugs* it is quite strange how their marketing team has said NOTHING. I honestly wonder if it was accidentally released. I've seen no "Xbox One exclusive" anywhere.

If they were worried about a bug, it'd have been pulled from xbox live. It's most likely another timed exclusive. Their communication on this and previous DLCS is laughable.

I do miss the days where we knew about things a little in advance, and there may of been a trailer included.

True. Bioware's gotten into the habbit of silently releasing DLCs lately. So it's difficult to know if this was another one of those instances, or an early leak from Xbox Live. It's been pulled now, so it's anyones guess. Could be to fix bugs, could be to recover from a leak. Someone in another thread said they saw it in their Origin at 12am their local time. So it's possible it could be released tomorrow, but IDK.

What's even more hilarious is that this pack has been on since 12am 7/7/15. If it was indeed an early leak, it really shows how infrequent they visit these forums as we've been talking about this since the moment it hit the xbox marketplace. It was taken down over 12 hours later.

Thank you for the review a part of me wants it but a part of me wishes they included that hair for my Qunari to! Maybe if they threw in that hair I might buy the DLC, when it comes out on origin. Whenever that is.

I sometimes get the feeling that Bioware forgets that DAI exists then remembers "Shouldn't we do a DLC?" and chuck something at us, its just so strange how they have treated this game. Hopefully its a sign of a story based DLC to come?

If this were indeed a leak, Bioware may be contacting you or youtube to remove the video. I believe you are the only one to have uploaded content about this.
